About

I am a devoted Christian, well loved for 27 years by the most excellent representation of masculinity I have ever known, and mother to 5 children I hope I haven’t screwed up too much.

My life is filled to the brim with wifely duties, mothering (and hopefully discipling) our children, homeschooling and related activities, cooking, and running, at which I am still very much a beginner. I’m embarking this fall on a new gig as a teacher, as well as doing some freelance copyediting while continuing our homeschool journey. This year is promising to be a challenging one, but still a lot of fun!

When the sun sets and the day’s work is done, there really is nothing I enjoy more than grabbing a tome, putting on my glasses, and snuggling as close as possible to my beloved and reading.

I can’t wait to discuss genres, iconic characters, authors, and even children’s books in this space. The busyness and fast pace of post-modern life attempts to devour the slowness and relaxation required to truly delve into a good book.

I’m so very thankful that I was able to recapture the love of reading that I felt as a child before the pixels succeeded to take over every inch of available mental space.

    I try to update my About pic once a year or so, because I just like to do that. If I’m going to have one, it shouldn’t be 5 years old. I was loving my hair today so I updated it. Also, I consider it a “before” picture. If I can swing it, I hope to be much thinner by my anniversary in February 2019.
