TALMAR’s mission is to offer an innovative, therapeutic environment in which to provide work skills development, and vocational, educational and recreational programming in horticulture and agriculture.

For more than twenty years, TALMAR has offered agriculture and horticulture-based, hands on social programs, therapeutic programs, and vocational training for people with disabilities.
We welcome people for 1:1 engagement, social groups, supported volunteer opportunities and vocational training. Projects and opportunities for skilled volunteers and students pursing degrees in occupational therapy, art therapy, horticultural therapy and recreational therapy are also ever present.
TALMAR's campus includes a working cut flower, vegetable and herb farm with laying hens and an apiary, raised garden beds, sensory garden, and places to sit and reflect. Produce is made available directly to the community.
Honestly, I think this program saved my life. In 2023, I was in a deep depress. It seemed like all that could go wrong in my life, did....It was so nice to feel like I was in my own body again. It was so nice to be outside and appreciate the beautiful nature around me. It was healing to feel like part of something. And I felt some accountability and like the plants depended on me. Seeing the chickens brought me joy. This was a really positive experience for me that got me out of a really dark time. I would recommend this to everyone. Even if someone is generally okay but just needed to get out of the house, or to feel like they have accomplished a meaningful task. Google reviewer Skylar
