1When is the conference?
The conference will be held over the weekend of 1–2 December 2012.
We recognise the high cost of transport and accommodation and ask those in a position to do so to offer contributions to help unwaged participants to attend. A system has been created to make this transparent and possible – please click here to make a contribution.

Sunday, 2 December
11:00 – 1:00 Radical walking tour of Oxford (meet by Radcliffe Camera)
‘The Other Side of Oxford’ A short drift through the history of Oxford from the locus of cultural power to sites of independent working-class education, direct action, oppositional scholarship and resistance. The tour will highlight the significance of Ruskin College, its place in the history of Industrial Jericho (the back side of Oxford) and sites of memory of class struggle and radical social movements in Oxford.

Where is the conference being held?
In the spirit of the Occupy movement, we have decided to host this conference on higher education in Oxford.
The West Oxford Community Centre is an accessible, family-friendly venue with a park nearby and a safe indoor space for children of all ages to play. Childcare duties will not preclude participation at this conference.
Getting here
The West Oxford Community Centre is located at 60 Botley Road, Oxford, OX2. Please click here for a map and directions.
There is minimal parking in Oxford. We encourage participants to use public transport or park at the nearby Seacourt park-and-ride (also on Botley Road, click here for a map and directions).
Accomodation
There is a Youth Hostel located approximately five minutes’ walk from the Community Centre (2a Botley Road, Oxford OX2 0AB). Rooms from £26, beds from £15.
Becket House Bed and Breakfast is located a bit further down the road (5 Becket Street, OX1 1PP). Rooms starting from £35.

Children and childcare
There will be voluntary assistance with childcare, a supervised space for young children to play, and some organised activities for older children.
