Square Enix Accounts - Indian State Requirement Notice – Follow-up (Sep 25) 2025/09/25 09:00 from SQUARE ENIX Support CenterOn 25th November, recurring subscriptions on Square Enix Accounts registered in India which do not have a state added to the registered address will be deactivated.
This is in accordance with new Indian financial regulations, which necessitate that all Square Enix Accounts registered in India must include a state with their registered address.
To avoid any interruption in play time or any issues when re-adding your payment method, we ask all users with a Square Enix Account registered in India to log into their account and update their address as follows:
-Log into your SQUARE ENIX Account and select Account
-Enter the date of birth registered to the account
-Click on ‘Update Account Information’ and then ‘Update detailed information’
-Select a state from the ‘State’ drop down field
-Click ‘Next’, review the information entered, click ‘Update’ and ‘Done’
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch by clicking “Contact Us”.
Please note that the state will be a mandatory field at account creation for any new account registrations, where India is selected as a country of registration.

Important Notice about Software Tokens and Software Authenticators (Sep. 17) 2025/09/17 04:00 from SQUARE ENIX Support CenterIf you are using a Software Token or another authentication app, please be sure to keep your Emergency Removal Password in a safe place. This password is required to regain access to your Square Enix account should you change phones or delete the app before removing the registered Software Token or authentication app. If you do not remove your Software Token/authentication app from your Square Enix account beforehand and no longer have your Emergency Removal Password, you will be unable to log into your game or other services using that account.
You can view your Emergency Removal Password on the One-Time Password page under Token Usage Status by logging into the Square Enix Account Management System (https://sqex.to/fHa).
Should you no longer have access to your Software Token/authentication app, you can remove it from your account using the Emergency Removal Password by visiting the following URL and following the on-screen instructions: https://sqex.to/GPE
New registrations for Software Tokens closed as of November 21, 2023, so please consider using another authentication app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator etc.) after performing the Emergency Removal.
