UGA Athens Campus to Reopen on Monday, February 2, 2026

As previously indicated, all classes and operations at the University of Georgia will resume on a regular schedule on Monday, February 2, 2026. UGA Police have been monitoring road conditions in and around Athens. While no major issues that would impact Monday’s operations have been reported, drivers are encouraged to use caution and allow more time for travel.

UGA Engagement Fair hosts 400+ student organizations across two nights

The University of Georgia Department of Engagement, Leadership, and Service held their annual engagement fair at Tate Student Center on Jan. 27 and Jan. 29. Students were able to visit club stations, chat with peers and connect with attendees from 7 to 10 p.m. each night.

Marine Science Ph.D. student Paul Okrah, from Ghana, combines coastal research with dedicated campus leadership at the University of Georgia. From modeling salt marsh dynamics to leading international student initiatives, Okrah exemplifies how global scholarship and community-building strengthen the entire UGA community.

Georgia participating in inaugural Fiesta Bowl Flag Football Classic

The UGA Club Flag Football Team is one of eight teams that will participate in the inaugural Fiesta Bowl Flag Football Classic. Teams from Georgia, Alabama State, Arizona State, Charlotte, Florida, Grand Canyon, UCF, and USC will take part in the 7-on-7 showcase, which will be played on April 18-19 at Arizona State's Tempe campus.

The Bulldogs Original Five to host event honoring first Black football players

The Bulldogs Original Five Foundation is hosting the premiere of “The First Five: Legacy in Motion,” a documentary honoring the first Black scholarship players in University of Georgia football. The event will occur at The Gathering Spot in Atlanta on Sunday, Feb. 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. with ticket prices starting at $40 for general admission and $100 for a VIP reception.
