About STRP
Since 2006, STRP has been a platform for art, music and digital culture. STRP offers extensive educational programmes, two annual international exhibitions, as well as workshops, tours and performances. Through these activities, STRP creates space for encounter, experimentation and exchange.
STRP is pronounced as ‘Strijp’ in Dutch [ˈstrɛip ˈɛs]
STRP seeks to initiate an open dialogue with audiences, artists, designers, media makers and thinkers about the relationship between people, experimental technologies, art, society and the future. Each year, STRP also co-produces new works of art in close collaboration with emerging artists, supporting artistic research and new forms of practice.
20 Years of STRP
In 2026, STRP Eindhoven celebrates its twentieth anniversary. Over the past two decades, STRP has continuously evolved and reinvented itself, responding to changes in society, technology and cultural practice. From the very beginning, adaptability and experimentation have been central to the organisation’s identity.
As STRP has grown, so has its understanding of how best to engage new generations of audiences. This ongoing development has led to a renewed programme structure: instead of one large-scale festival, STRP now presents two smaller events, which include an exhibition, a context programme, workshops and performances. This event format allows for greater focus, deeper engagement and closer interaction between artists, participants and audiences, and resonate more strongly with STRP’s current and emerging community.

STRP continues to imagine experimental and hopeful futures through an ambitious, high-quality educational programme that brings together art and digital culture. Education and participation remain at the core of STRP’s practice, with reflection and critical inquiry forming an essential part of every programme. Our activities include co-creation trajectories for emerging makers, talent development programmes, workshops and masterclasses, as well as a diverse music and performance programme.
In 2026, these activities come together during our two yearly events, in spring and autumn, serving as key moments for presentation, dialogue and exchange within a broader year-round programme.
PROTOTYPE
PROTOTYPE is STRP’s new multifunctional permanent space, launching in spring 2026. It serves as a year-round environment for experimentation, development and presentation. Within PROTOTYPE, artists, designers, researchers and audiences come together to explore new ideas, test concepts and reflect on the future, from our present.
Some of STRP’s programmes are developed and presented within PROTOTYPE, making it a central hub for co-creation, education and dialogue. PROTOTYPE embodies STRP’s commitment to long-term engagement, process-driven work and collaboration across disciplines.
Over STRP
Sinds 2006 is STRP een platform voor kunst, muziek en digitale cultuur. STRP biedt een uitgebreid educatief programma, twee jaarlijkse internationale tentoonstellingen, evenals workshops, rondleidingen en performances. Met deze activiteiten bids STRP ruimte voor ontmoeting, experiment en uitwisseling.
STRP wordt uitgesproken als ‘Strijp’ [ˈstrɛip ˈɛs].
STRP wil een open dialoog op gang brengen met publiek, kunstenaars, ontwerpers, mediamakers en denkers over de relatie tussen mensen, experimentele technologieën, kunst, samenleving en de toekomst. Daarnaast co-produceert STRP jaarlijks nieuwe kunstwerken in nauwe samenwerking met opkomende makers, waarbij artistiek onderzoek en nieuwe vormen van praktijk worden ondersteund.
20 Jaar STRP
In 2026 viert STRP Eindhoven zijn twintigjarig bestaan. In de afgelopen twee decennia is STRP voortdurend geëvolueerd en heeft de organisatie zichzelf steeds opnieuw uitgevonden, in reactie op veranderingen in de samenleving, technologie en culturele praktijk. Vanaf het begin staan aanpassingsvermogen en experiment centraal in de identiteit van de organisatie.
Naarmate STRP groeide ook het inzicht in hoe nieuwe generaties publiek het beste kunnen worden bereikt en betrokken. Deze voortdurende ontwikkeling heeft geleid tot een vernieuwde programmastructuur: in plaats van één grootschalig festival presenteert STRP nu twee kleinere evenementen per jaar, bestaande uit een tentoonstelling, een contextprogramma, workshops en performances. Dit format biedt meer focus, diepere betrokkenheid en intensievere interactie tussen kunstenaars, deelnemers en publiek, en sluit beter aan bij de huidige en toekomstige community van STRP.
Educatie
STRP blijft experimentele en hoopvolle toekomsten verbeelden via een ambitieus en kwalitatief hoogstaand educatief programma waarin kunst en digitale cultuur samenkomen. Educatie en participatie vormen de kern van STRP’s praktijk, waarbij reflectie en kritische verdieping een essentieel onderdeel zijn van ieder programma. De activiteiten bestaan onder meer uit co-creatietrajecten voor opkomende makers, talentontwikkelingstrajecten, workshops en masterclasses, evenals een divers muziek- en performanceprogramma.
In 2026 komen deze activiteiten samen tijdens twee jaarlijkse evenementen, in de lente en in de herfst. Deze momenten fungeren als belangrijke ijkpunten voor presentatie, dialoog en uitwisseling binnen een breder doorlopend jaarprogramma.
PROTOTYPE
PROTOTYPE is de nieuwe multifunctionele permanente ruimte van STRP, die in het voorjaar van 2026 wordt gelanceerd. Het is een plek waar het hele jaar door ruimte is voor experiment, ontwikkeling en presentatie. Binnen PROTOTYPE komen kunstenaars, ontwerpers, onderzoekers en publiek samen om nieuwe ideeën te verkennen, concepten te testen en vanuit het heden te reflecteren op de toekomst.
Een deel van STRP’s programma wordt ontwikkeld en gepresenteerd binnen PROTOTYPE, waardoor het fungeert als een centrale hub voor co-creatie, educatie en dialoog. PROTOTYPE belichaamt STRP’s inzet voor langdurige betrokkenheid, procesgericht werken en samenwerking over disciplinaire grenzen heen.

STRP explores different perspectives to come up with new ideas and wants to engage, inspire, and activate community-wide dialogue. We believe in a world where diverse people and different points of view enrich each other, as long as people respect, value and hear each other. This means that a diversity of people feels at home at STRP and that we are willing and able to put ourselves in another person's perspective.
