Hey, I’m just a random blog reader that came across your blog this evening. I also have a blog and just found out that I am pregnant as well (I am 5w3d). My blog is protected to those I invite, and I’m sure it sounds like an odd request, but I’d like to send an invite for you to read it. If you’re interested, send me your email address to alyssa.gavinski at gmail.com.
Hope all goes well!!

Hi April,
Thanks for checking out my blog!
My twins just started taking 6 oz but it is not a regular occurrence (usually their first bottle of the morning). They are drinking 4-5 ounces every 3 hours pretty regularly now. I pumped for 12 weeks and stopped right before Christmas so they are getting all formula (Enfamil Enfacare 22 cal). They have been good eaters since birth and were taking 3 oz at 6 weeks (non-adjusted). They now weigh over 12 lbs each (which is a huge accomplishment considering their birth weights). 🙂
I’ll continue to check out your blog – us twins’ moms have to stick together!

Hey there, saw your note on my blog…from the picture, you must be from up north somewhere? Yes, we are in Michigan…how old are your twins?
I’ve been reading Kate for awhile…love her.

Hi…I’m responding to your note on my blog about baby sign language. (And thanks for stopping by!)
I am so glad I started teaching the girls sign language. I originally started around 6 or 7 months, but I gave up pretty quickly, as that was too early for our girls. I started again when they were about 9 months old, and they picked up a couple of very basic signs (more, all done, and sleep were the ones that were most important to me). At 12 or 13 months, the girls really seemed to get into signing. I never pictured myself teaching them all the zoo animals, but they love it. They love to go through picture books and sign what they see. It’s amazing to me to get a sense for what they understand.
The book I used is Baby Signs, by Linda Acredolo and Susan Goodwyn. It’s easy to read, but it mostly talks about why sign language is important. I read it, but I already knew I wanted to do sign language, so in hindsight, that wasn’t that important to me. I mostly use the “dictionary” in the back of the book when I want to teach the girls a new sign.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions!

Would you mind sending me your email address? Mine is mjemedi@hotmail.com
The sippy cups we’re using are Nuby Flip ‘n Sip cups. They have a straw construction which doesn’t seem as hard for the girls to draw as some of the more “traditional” styles of cups. I was feeling kind of exasperated in weaning the girls from bottles, and these were the cups most recommended in response to a plea to my Facebook friends. 🙂
Hope you’re having a good week!
