a late gift to kiki homepage construction set instance operators to close out 2025: some very necessary bug fixes! :D
I noticed that pages were accidentally being reverse-sorted based on their publication date.
also caught some weirdness with Bug (kiki's teeny tiny not-markdown markup language) when it came to opening/closing paragraphs - that is now fixed.
and finally, the $$time$$ dynamic content variable now auto-generates the page time based on the file's last-modified time on your server.
enjoy kiki ops! and thank you for a wonderful year responding to your ideas, feature requests and bug traps. 🙏 it warms my heart knowing that there are a bunch of people out there running their own little instances on the worldwideweb.

Anyone partaking in a 100 day project in 2026?
Thinking about doing another round of short-form poetry, primarily haiku and tanka augmented with surreal humor doodles and illustrations.
Sort of like this 🙂
* waiting, wasting days
* taunting, green avocado
* unripened temptress

My gift for myself this holiday is diving into uncharted territory—figuring how to setup a #Micropub server for my #Hugo site. Think I'm ready to enter the next step of #Indieweb integration!
All the new stuff I came across: #NodeJS, Vercel/Render, Micropub, #MongoDB, npm (I did use npx before).
I successfully got the #Indiekit endpoints working—didn't think I could do it...🤩 Now upgrading my Hugo templates to accept the new Micropub content. Definitely gonna write this up!
Sneak peek đź‘€

In the next year, I'd like to train a Text To Speech (TTS) model on my own voice.
Then I want to develop a process to push my blog posts on andrewmelder.com through it and have a "listen to this article" web player. That way, anyone who wants to listen to it can do so in "my voice" instead of a generic TTS model.
Very achievable, just need to do it. But if there's any examples of this on someone's blog already, I'd love to try it.

Well put: “To conclude this wrapup of my #indieweb experience in 2025: more than ever, I still regard the open web as my online home. There are communities I feel like I belong to within it — like the 'open social' community, the Mastodon community, the Eleventy community, etc. Maybe there will eventually be a Cybercultural community! One of our Waf neighborhood admins made a forum for creative community: https://forums.vaguely.art/
It has spots for all kinds of creative works, including digital, traditional, music, food, and more. I'm on there (wolfwalks), you should join me!

Goal for 2026: find an inexpensive solution for remote blogging when I’m visiting family and far away from my desktop computer. I love Jekyll so much, but the fact that I can’t use it on my tablet is definitely an annoyance!
