Elvira Arellano finally arrested

Elvira Arellano is not Rosa Parks
Illegal immigrant and criminal alien Elvira Arellano was finally arrested on Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles, Ca. She and her activist party were attempting to leave town for San Jose and then on to Washington where Ms. Arellano was to speak on the mall. It is not known if Arellano is married or who is the father of her 8 year old son.
She was taken into custody after evading the federal authorities for a number of years. When Arellano was giving a press conference she compared herself to the civil rights activist Rosa Parks. This comparison inflamed many in the black community and civil rights activist who fought for equal rights.
The differences are glaring. Rosa Parks was a natural born citizen of the US and she never broke any laws. Rosa Parks was fighting for equal rights to ride on a Bus and indeed the very plane that Arellano (who fraudently used someones social security card to get the job) worked on. I job that blacks could have never acquired during that era.
Is the comparison just or is Elvira Arellano simply riding the backs of all those past and brave civil rights activist?

Michael Vick on Deadline for Plea Deal
By: VPN (Varnum Post and News)
Embattled NFL star Michael Vick is still waiting out a plea from the federal authorities on Dog fighting charges. Many feel Mr. Vick was hounded by the feds and was always under surveillance. Many also feel that dog fighting, a bad crime in itself, in everyday prosecuting is never done at the federal level and think Mr. Vick has been on the feds “watch” or “person of interest” list. Should Michael Vick go to prison for dog fighting? Since he didn’t live in the house were this occured, by him simply owning the house does that make him a suspect?

Nike suspends Vick’s contract, Reebok halts sales of his jersey
By PAUL NEWBERRY AP Sports Writer
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) – Nike suspended its lucrative contract with Michael Vick on Friday, while Reebok took the unprecedented step of stopping sales of his No. 7 jersey.
Facing protests from animal-rights groups, Nike announced it was suspending Vick’s endorsement deal without pay, as well as halting sales of Vick-related shoes and other products at its retail stores.
Reebok, the official uniform supplier of the NFL, said it would stop selling Vick’s replica jersey at retail stores and through its Web site.
The moves came one day after the Atlanta Falcons quarterback pleaded not guilty to federal dogfighting charges in Richmond, Va.
“Nike is concerned by the serious and highly disturbing allegations made against Michael Vick, and we consider any cruelty to animals inhumane and abhorrent,” Nike spokesman Dean Stoyer said in a statement.
Since Vick has not been convicted of any crime, Nike left open the door to resume its business relationship with the star player if he’s acquitted.
“We do believe that Michael Vick should be afforded the same due process as any citizen in the United States,” according to the statement. “Therefore, we have not terminated our relationship.”
Vick is barred from the Falcons’ training camp while the league investigates his actions for possible violations of its new personal conduct policy.
Although Reebok does not have a business relationship with Vick, the Massachusetts-based company serves as the official supplier of apparel and equipment to all 32 NFL teams. Through that deal, it holds the coveted rights to sell jerseys at the retail level.
“We just find the allegations very upsetting and very disturbing,” Reebok spokeswoman Denise Kaigler said. “While this is just the beginning of the legal process and we know that it has to have time to run its course, we felt that making this decision now was important and the right things to do.”
Reebok said it also was willing to take back any unsold Vick jerseys that are returned by retail outlets.
Kaigler said she already had received numerous e-mails in support of the decision. Even though numerous NFL players have run afoul of the law, this is the first time Reebok has stopped sales of an individual jersey.
“The number of e-mails and statements we’re getting from consumers was pretty telling about how disturbing people find these allegations to be,” Kaigler said.

Immigration Bill Forthcoming
Posted in Uncategorized on May 26, 2007| Leave a Comment »
The current immigration bill before the senate will be debated for some time. Many analyst believe that the bill will not make it to the President’s desk. Does the bill give amnesty to many people in the country illegally or does it offer them a chance at opportunity? This question no doubt, will be debated all summer.
