This was a great inaugural session for Danny Holloway's new FREE psych DJ + band night FUZZ, with around 200+ attendees. By 9pm there was already a line outside the venue, dancing started at my 10th song and never let up from there. For me, it was a blast playing these worldwide mod/garage/psych/freakbeat classics to a non-mod crowd that was totally up for dancing to old sounds that were new to them. Here's hoping for another edition next month! (PS thanks to the NEOGANDA crew for the support!)

Made a big trade with the homie Scott at Records LA last night, got these along with some plums and lemons from his fruit tree outside. The bollywood vinyl is courtesy of our man Nick "Unconventional Science" who's in India pipelining all these records back to LA: Been searching for that Chairman of the Board album for almost a decade. Ripoff of Herbie Hancock's "Rockit" on the BAADAL. Really fun Madonna-wannabe song "I'm A Bad Girl" on GURU.

Spent $15 at the opening of the Artform Record Store in DTLA last night: The Messengers: Is It Because I'm Black / Just Like A Shelter Augustus Pablo: Jughead / Big Thing Matata: I Feel Funky / Want You Much of the store stock is from the collection of BLACK DYNAMITE soundtrack composer Adrian Younge (dreadlocked dude in first pic), and the party was real fun complete with DJs, full bar, free pizza, and dudes getting their hair cut in front of a mirror decorated with a Schoolly D promo pic.
