The School’s Out Hackathon is a 24 hour coding event for high school students from across the nation. With over 700 participants, expert mentors, and in-depth workshops design to help people code, it promises to ensure that everyone can have a fun experience getting introduced to programming with their peers.
Eligibility
- Entering 9th graders and Exiting 12th graders
- Teams of 4 or less
- Team participating remotely will be eligible for all prizes except grand prizes
Requirements
As long as its built at the hackathon and is technological, you're good to go (hopefully uses code)!
Prizes
Grand Prize - Software
Each member on the winning team will receive a pair of Beats Headphones and a new Occulus Rift!
Grand Prize- Hardware
Sponsored by RadioShack.
Each team member of the team with the best hardware hack will get a pair of Beats headphones and the team will receive a 3D printer!
Best Educational App
The cash prize will be divided among the team members. Each person will get an interview with Apps for Aptitude.
Microsoft Prize
Each member on the team that the Microsoft mentors choose will receive a Windows Phone!
Best Use of Mashape
$300 will be given to the team that best uses Mashape!
Google Engineers' Favorite
Each member on the team that the Google Engineers like best will receive a Chromecast!
Best Use of Firebase
Each member on the team that best uses Firebase will receive 6 months of credit and Skype session with founder.
Best Use of Dwolla API
Each member on the team that best uses the Dwolla API will receive a Raspberry Pi!
Best Use of UserApp.io
Each member on the team that best uses UserApp.io will receive a Raspberry Pi!
Pebble Prize
Best Use Of Pebble will award the team 4 Pebble Watches.
