Hi All,

After 15 Years I’ve decided to stop selling (but still support) the Socrates Theme.  It’s been a great run and Socrates is still used on 1000’s of websites.

Why Stop?

First, I hope to retire in the next couple of years and Second, I believe the website industry is poised for dramatic changes in the coming months.

AI tools, browsers, and search engines will evolve to the point where building “information sites” and blogs may no longer be worthwhile.  Companies will still need websites of course, but the niche that Socrates helped revolutionize will slowly disappear.

Anyone will be able to design a site with simple prompts plus design their own plugins or custom snippets using AI in seconds.  Personal AI assistants will both create the content and do the searches so humans won’t need to visit websites.   It’s a wild time.

That being said I have no desire to compete with superior themes and development teams already incorporating AI website builders and leading this new frontier.

So, as they say, if you can’t beat ’em…. promote them.
