Hi all! I am Tammy :):):), the Mi part of my ID (snpnmnmi), and this is A Wonderful Life I live. I am wife to a great husband that I have had the honor of growing with since 1987 and mother to 3 terrific children; S & P are 14 year old boy/girl twins and M is 4 years old (of course, this is as of 8/09. A little begrudgingly, they will get older right along with me and my “life”.).
We live in the Bluegrass State and homeschool in the state of chaos. Well, that was a bit of an over-statement… we’re not really that chaotic. I just couldn’t resist the play on words. Life is really just pretty similar to most others, except we don’t do the “mad morning rush” during the weekdays to decide what we’re going to wear, where all the books and supplies are or if the lunches made it into the backpacks. No, we take the entire day sometimes to figure all of that stuff out. See what I mean? So whether it’s a dash in the morning, or ~ as frustrating as it usually is ~ throughout the whole live long day… we face our challenges too. Homeschooling has been one of the biggest challenges and purest joys in my life, though. It doesn’t get any better than watching the lightbulbs suddenly blink on when you’ve been teaching so hard and they’ve been trying so hard.
I enjoy gardening, but the plants are usually garden variety (yes, more fun with words)… I don’t like to molly-coddle anything that can’t give me a little foot rub in return sometimes. So, lots of plants and flowers that don’t take a whole lot of care and maintenance. My motto: If it grows and I like it, it’s not a weed.
I am also an avid reader, a trait I am happy to say my children have inherited. I could waste spend hours… nay, days happily disregarding all other responsibilities, pouring through a good book. I love series’… they are enough to keep me busy for a while and returning library books before they are over-due, just so that I can get the next one!
I have been supported by groups and have helped lead support groups. I also know that sometimes I don’ need a support group… I can find what I need, when I need it. Sometimes. I have run the gamut as far as levels of service to my church. I fully believe that God provides us seasons in life… there are times to dig in and get buried up to your neck, and there are times to observe and absorb. The hard part is being mature enough to know which part of the cycle you are in and acting accordingly. This is my nod to my conscience that I do have to be careful to not abuse the cycle… that is my tendency.
I have also started my own business, with a lot of help and encouragement from my family. I have the great pleasure of teaching Kindermusik classes to children and parents and have loved every minute of it. The teaching, I mean. The business aspect can sometimes be a drag. I believe that life has background music… from the sounds your sweet newborn makes, to the sounds of the traffic that may go by your window on a hot summer evening. Or the rustle of the wind blowing through the brown leaves of an oak tree in the dead of winter to the white noise babbling of the tv or car radio as you go about your business. Maybe you’re like me and you purposely turn on children’s folk music, new grass, the classics or something that brings back the memories from the 80’s. Sounds and music play a big part in my life (you’ll notice it’s “mi” in my ID… not “me”).
Enjoy the time you spend here at my life. If you’re still reading and you want to know still more about me, check out the subpages of “About” in the sidebar. Please feel free to comment liberally or e-mail me at snpnme@hotmail.com.

Kentucky! *sigh*. We spent from 1995-2001 in SW Ohio and the Bluegrass state, went to UK and taught at NKU. I miss it every day; have to console myself with a little bourbon and Berry, as in Wendell, every day. Love the page, and thanks for popping over to mine.
Hi Tammy! I see what you mean about keeping political opinions to oneself – LOL! That’s okay, I’m friendly to all! Sounds like you have “a wonderful life” indeed. 🙂
