Linda Murphy loves writing about the little moments that make being a daughter, wife, mother of two young boys, sister-in-law, friend, music teacher and blogger a precious and entertaining adventure.
Music sometimes cured the loneliness of being the only one. (besides that brother with no bones) After pursuing a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Music Education, Linda has been teaching elementary classroom music for 16 years. She is a member of Music Educators National Conference and Arizona Music Educators Association. Her article on teaching music to special learners was published in the Fall 2009 Arizona Music News. Linda presented two clinics at the 2010 Arizona Music Educator’s Association conference on how to effectively teaching music to students with special needs. She is also the liaison for music in special education for her district, spearheading an on-going project to create effective and engaging lessons for special learners at the secondary level.
Linda is also the Executive Director of the Sonoran Desert Chorale. In addition to administrative duties, Linda has written four successful grants for the Chorale, including a marketing grant from the Virginia G. Piper Foundation.
A prizewinner and first runner-up in the 2008 essay contest for Arizona Working Parent of the Year, Linda, along with her family, celebrated with an all-expense paid vacation to San Diego in June 2009.
