would you mind awfully clicking below and telling me if the drinkmilk site shows up on your machine. it's supposedly back online but i just get an error message. thanks.
today i have been mostly receiving nuisance calls on my mobile phone from a nigerian phone number. i answered the first time, not knowing it was a nigerian number and just got white noise, crackling, and some odd music. after that i was called by the same number approximately 8 times in 45 minutes. and a message has been left on my answering machine.
i called my provider who told me they can do nothing about international calls. BT told me the same thing.
next week we've got the plumber coming in (finally) to install the new bathroom.
i agreed to do some of the prep work for him to keep the labour cost down a bit. it's already costing us nearly 3 grand.
anyhow, in the bathroom a previous owner had put up suspended ceiling. yes, you read right. just like in an office.
this morning i took it down and found that the lighting for the bathroom had been wired to the mains using a piece of old 2 bar fire flex. i dismantled it and found all the inner sheathing for the wires completely corroded - after all the flex could be 30 or 40 years old. nothing but luck had kept the naked wires form touching each other. and as for how the damp from showering and running baths etc hasn't caused a problem, well.....
so i've been out and bought a new ceiling rose and rewired the light so that we can see when we wee.
roll on monday and the nice plumber/interior designer man arriving.
in other news our land line stopped working last monday. i called BT to report the fault and was told it would be fixed by today (the 18th). i called them to tell them it still wasn't working. "but our system says the problem has been fixed and you have a phone", they told me. well it isn't. i've had to start a fresh fault report and the engineers will be back out again in the next couple of days.
somehow i'm still getting sporadic broadband connection.
