Canada Internship GEOG 396

Canadian Literature ENG 360
This course examines a significant theme or topic in Canadian literature such as the North, World War I, urbanization, or social protest. Typically, course materials include works in a variety of genres.
Children’s Literature ENG 280
This course introduces students to the major periods and genres of childrenâs literature from the folk and fairy tales to the present day. The course will focus on major authors and themes in childrenâs literature, including images of childhood.

Educational Psychology EDUC 200
This course addresses two fundamental questions: How do we learn and how do we create the conditions for others to learn? Content includes evaluating established theories of learning and development and considering why certain theories of learning have been privileged in Western education. Topics include learning theory, maturation and development, social conditions for learning, and specific instructional strategies that enable learning. Designed for students interested in pursuing a BEd.
Best Practices in Teaching and Learning EDUC 300
Provides opportunities for prospective teachers to start becoming reflective practitioners. Content includes contemporary educational theories, research, and pedagogy. Topics include strategies of teaching, learning, assessment, classroom management, differentiation, and school governance. Includes school observations and/or case studies.
StĂł:lĆ History HIST 103
Examines key themes in the history of the StĂł:lĂ” peoples, from the pre-contact era to the present. Emphasis will be given to oral history as a way of accessing and documenting a communityâs knowledge of its own past.
Public Speaking CMNS 235
This course focuses on the principles and psychology of effective speaking. Specific areas include informal presentations to small groups, formal presentations, meeting management, workshop facilitation the use of presentation aids, developing the voice, and improving body language. Videotaped feedback is an important part of the course.
Information Services for Children LIBT 230
This course introduces students to a wide variety of childrenâs materials available in libraries. Students will use specific selection criteria to create programs and promotional materials that support library services for children. In addition, students explore and discuss issues related to childrenâs literature and the provision of services to children.
