Flash news: Donald Trump loves the poorly educated.

Trump overwhelmingly leads rivals in support from less educated Americans

Politics Apr 3, 2016 6:52 PM EST

WASHINGTON — It was in Nevada, just about month ago, when Donald Trump proclaimed his affection for the uneducated.

“We won with young. We won with old. We won with highly educated. We won with poorly educated. I love the poorly educated,” the Republican presidential front-runner boasted after coasting to a decisive victory in the state’s caucuses.

He should love them.

Trump overwhelmingly leads his rivals for support among the less educated, and draws more modest backing from college graduates and those with postgraduate study, according to exit polls conducted for the Associated Press and television networks by Edison Research.

Well, all right. Everybody has their base. Apparently Donald Trump is mining a rich vein. Doubt me? See the above.

Somebody with The Young Turks is interviewing two Trump supporters. The TYT guy is setting these two up. Watch the YouTube video. He asks, “Do you think there should be rules about what is taught in schools?”

They fall for it. “Critical Race Theory. As soon as I heard about that I’m like…”

carview.php?tsp=

What is Critical Race Theory?

Gotcha!

carview.php?tsp=

Yes, they do not know.

carview.php?tsp=

Keep in mind people like this are allowed to drive automobiles, operate heavy machinery, and possess sharp objects.

They are out there, readers. Y’all be careful.

I am telling you Twitter (X) is one crazy place. I get alerts about some Twitter postings, and they are a riot. Here is something recent.

Collin Rugg @CollinRugg

JUST IN: Biden leaves press conference after reporter confronts him over all his interactions with Hunter Biden’s foreign business associates. Before leaving, Biden falsely said the claims the reporter was making were “LIES.” Joe Biden: The biggest liar in politics. “I’m not gonna comment on that. I did not, and it’s just a bunch of lies.” “I did not… lies!”

And there is a video, but I could not follow the link.

What is really bizarre is, “The biggest liar in politics.” All right, Collin. Do want to think about that? You know the biggest liar in politics is competitive. If you want to look for the winner, you do not have to go very far. Let’s get the ball rolling.

The Quintessence of Dumb

Number 16 in a continuing thread

carview.php?tsp=

First there is the video. House Speaker Mike Johnson has released 44,000 hours of video from the January 6 attack on the government. There are some images MAGA hatters find fascinating. See above. From the description on YouTube:

Republican Sen. Mike Lee is promoting a debunked conspiracy theory that one of the Jan. 6 videos released at the order of House Speaker Mike Johnson shows an undercover federal agent disguised as a Trump supporter.

Senator Lee’s comments in the Twitter (X) post are most interesting.

I can’t wait to ask FBI ;Director Christopher Wray about this at our next oversight hearing.

I predict, as always, his answers will be 97% information-free.

The senator is referring to the image posted by Derrick Evans, who writes

This was sent to me.

Is this person flashing a badge? If so, this would prove there were undercover federal agents disguised as MAGA.

RIGHT!

carview.php?tsp=

Unfortunately for Senator Lee, a reader posted some clarification.

The person in the photo is Kevin Lyons. He has been sentenced to 51 months in prison for his illegal activities inside the Capitol on J6.

He is not a police officer and is not holding a badge. He is carrying a vape and a photograph and wallet stolen from Pelosi’s office.

Oops!

A spokesman for the senator released this statement.

“Senator Lee would like Director Wray to answer important questions regarding the uncuffed rioter fist bumping Capitol police inside the building, the unidentified pipe bomber, and other individuals about whom the FBI and fraudulent January 6th Committee have shown a surprising lack of interest…”
BILLY GRIBBIN SEN. MIKE LEES SPOKESMAN

carview.php?tsp=

All stupidity aside, the facts are these.

Donald Trump lost the 2020 election by over seven million votes in the popular count and by a sizeable margin in the Electoral College. He was most chagrinned at this, and he encouraged his fans to object with great energy. It turned out this great energy comprised meddling with voting machines, intimidating election workers, strong-arming a state Attorney General and encouraging his followers to come to the Capitol on January 6 to help subvert the count of the electoral votes.

All that did not go well, and Trump and his loyalists who took part in the illegal activities are now being prosecuted. Some have already gone to jail. My take is there is a sizable fraction of our population for whom ideology trumps fact, and they will not have it any other way.

And we call these people “dumb shits.”

The Quintessence of Dumb

Number 15 in a continuing thread

carview.php?tsp=

I am changing the title of this series, but it will continue to relate stories illustrating the quintessence of dumb shit. Watch the video.

Apparently a lot of this goes on in Arkansas, also known as The Natural State. Something like this gets posted to YouTube about twice a week. Arkansas State Police encounter motorists who are unwilling to stop on command, and the cops take aggressive action. Sometimes the culprit is a major perp, bank robber, car jacker. Many times, however, what is involved is a non-felon, driving without a license, no insurance, expired plate, who wants to avoid getting a ticket. Their actions turn a ticket event into a life-changing drama.

See above. Officer James Reed stops a speeding motorist on U.S. 79. He talks to the driver, but then the driver decides to make a run for it. And off they go.

carview.php?tsp=

These sequences typically show the cop pursuing the motorist, by now a felon, for miles and minutes. There are maneuvers cops use to stop a car when the driving is unwilling. They can employ “stop sticks” with spikes that deflate the car tires and force the vehicle to eventually pull over. However, I have seen a number of instances in which the driver continues to run after the tires shred and come off the rims. In at least one case the driver continued until the wheel rims wore down to the point the vehicle was limping along on the hubs. And sometimes the perp gets tired and stops, and sometimes the vehicle runs out of gas.

As a last resort, sometimes not as a last resort, the cops employ a technique known as “pursuit intervention technique,” PIT, also called “tactical vehicle intervention,” TVI. One thing I have noticed is that in Los Angeles the cops are only allowed to use this for speeds 35mph or less, could be all of California. Not so in Arkansas. These cops use the method at speeds of 120mph and above. In this case the speed was 84mph.

Here we see officer Reed getting ready by pulling up the car’s left quarter.

carview.php?tsp=

He makes his move, ramming the left quarter with the front of his pursuit vehicle, which has a bumper that protects his own car. The four-door car is spun to the left, and it is all over but the cleanup.

carview.php?tsp=

The driver has turned a ticket matter into a major catastrophe. I am sure the car is a total write-off, and I am sure the insurance company will not pay for this.

carview.php?tsp=

My understanding is the driver survived this event, but I do not know what injuries were sustained.

And the whole matter is a classic example of The Quintessence of Dumb.

The Twitter Follies

Number 2 Of A Series

carview.php?tsp=

Twitter was on the far side before Elon Musk bought it. He has taken it to a new level.

George Papadopoulos @GeorgePapa19

DEVELOPING: US military aircraft crashes in eastern Mediterranean Sea It’s happening. Brace yourselves

In case you don’t recognize the name, here is a refresher.

On October 5, 2017, Papadopoulos pleaded guilty to a felony charge of making false statements to FBI agents about the timing and the possible significance of his contacts in 2016 relating to U.S.–Russia relations and the Trump presidential campaign. In 2018, he served twelve days in federal prison, then was placed on a 12-month supervised release.

He was later pardoned by Donald Trump.

I am trying to determine how much George Papadopoulos posted, but the follow-up is what is interesting.

The US European Command released a press statement saying the incident was training related. “..we can definitively say that the aircraft sortie was purely related to training and there are no indications of hostile activity.” https://www.eucom.mil/article/42556/statement-us-military-aircraft-mishap-in-eastern-mediterranean

George Papadopoulos followed up by posting the following.

George Papadopoulos @GeorgePapa19

Veterans Day during the Biden regime.

As far as I can tell, a US military aircraft crashed in the eastern Mediterranean Sea, and some Trump cult members want to make moonshine out of it. The image above was posted by

Machiavelli @TheRISEofROD

If only The Uniparty Deep State didn’t rig the 2020 election… There would be world peace now.

That is supposed to make sense? Here are some additional comments.

Susanne Smith @Susanne_Smith1

Maybe the pilot was in drag and couldn’t see through his eyelashes

Thomas Paine Band @ThomasPaineBand

This is what happens when an election is stolen and the peace and prosperity President is removed in a coup, imo.

Cynthia M White @CynthiaMWhite1

I’m not really learned in military operations but why are they training over there? Shouldn’t that be done in friendly areas? Shouldn’t pilots already be trained if they’re in hostile territories?

I will be the first to agree there is stupidity on both sides of the National Divide, but I was hoping it would not taken to be a competition.

Pilot in drag? Are you kidding me? Get some help.

Stolen election? Somebody needs to get in touch with the real world.

carview.php?tsp=

And finally for Cynthia White, if you ever served in the military, or if any relative of yours ever served, or if you ever knew somebody who did not have bone spurs and did serve, then you might know that American troops are always in training. The Navy Sixth Fleet is stationed in the eastern Mediterranean, and trains on a daily basis. Maybe you should think about suiting up and serving with some of the rest of your countrymen.

So much for Titter Follies for now. There are many more where this came from, and I will post them as I find I can use them. Keep reading.

And wow! That is Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene telling us AA flight 77 did not crash into the Pentagon. Not to be to harsh on Ms. Greene, but that statement is just dumb. Where has she been all this time? Contradictions abound.

  • People saw it happen.
  • The plane’s cockpit voice recorder was recovered.
  • Large pieces of the plane, for example landing gear, were discovered inside the Pentagon.

Hmm. This looks like American Airlines to me.

carview.php?tsp=

And we wonder just what is the “Jihad Squad,” and should be be up in arms? Only MTG knows.

Talk about Miss Congeniality. AOC is little? A communist? Or is MTG just making stuff up?

Heart Of Dumbness

carview.php?tsp=

This is from a clip by Rebel HQ. The Trump supporter is holding up a sigh with a Trump motto. “They’re are not after me. They’re after you. I’m just in their way.” That, in itself, is strange. Has anybody ever known Donald Trump to take a bullet for somebody else? The woman says, “That’s right.”

Then she is asked, “Why are they coming after you?” She replies, “Because maybe I’m talking against them.”

carview.php?tsp=

Then she is asked, “Have you ever hoarded classified documents in a bathroom at your golf club?” See, that is what Trump did, and now they are coming after him, not her.

carview.php?tsp=

So why are they coming after you? Good question.

“Because they’re coming after everybody in the country.”

carview.php?tsp=

And that, people, is a full frontal view of the opposition. Can we assume they are all this dumb? Nobody ever went broke underestimating the stupidity of the American public. This is the Heart of Dumbness.

My inbox is pretty much open, and all sorts of stuff filters in. I especially like receiving tweets from Comical Conservatives. Dissection is typically effortless. Here is an example.

Travis @Travis_in_Flint

Happening Now: Attorney General Merrick Garland just went on TV and lied and called any attack on the DOJ an attack on American democracy. His Justice department has been under fire because they’ve become so obvious while covering up for Hunter and Joe Biden and weaponizing the institution to attack the leading Presidential candidate Donald Trump.

12:08 PM · Jun 23, 2023

A few obvious facts contradict entirely the gist of this Tweet. Some points.

Trump did the deed. He clearly violated several laws, including stealing government property and obstructing (lying) to prevent recovery.

carview.php?tsp=
carview.php?tsp=

The DOJ is doing what the DOJ is tasked to do, namely to prosecute criminals. A boat load of Trump supporters appear to be unaware of his criminal past, and they want to ignore glaring criminality on his part. William Barr was Trump’s Attorney General, and he agrees there is much to condemn with this Trump episode.

carview.php?tsp=

Comment posted to the tweet reveal the depths of the dumbness pervading the Trump cult.

Gina @GinaSaysSo
A non-existent DOJ cannot accuse of attack.

Travis @Travis_in_Flint
The DOJ is such a joke

Pro Swing Trading @Pro__Trading
They’re trying to set up the “you’re a domestic terrorist if you question the DOJ” narrative. In reality, nobody is a bigger threat to our constitutional republic than Merrick Garland.

Zachary Hammond @zackhammond__
Wait. So if American Citizens calls out the government for acting in a malicious or corrupt manner it’s an attack on democracy? Would it not be the reverse? If the democracy is not acting as a democracy we the people are not allowed to say anything?

Mike Russell for Atlanta @mikerussellatl
Unfortunately, Gartland [sic] has succumb to petty partisan politics in Washington. His actions demonstrate daily why it was the right decision to keep him off the Supreme Court of the United States.

Johnny Pure Blood @JohnnyPureBlood
You’re a liar and a criminal, covering up for crimes is a crime itself, so that means weaponizing the @DOJPH & the @FBI is also a crime.

What more is there to say. Does this have all the marks of a cult or what?

Above see Georgia District 14 Marjorie Taylor Greene explaining to the rest of us why a government agency is conspiring against the people. Watch the video. The slant of her talk is the CDC, Dr. Anthony Fauci, pharmaceutical companies, etc. were in a scheme to manufacture a new virus and to make profit of it.

Greene rolls out a litany of (presumabe) facts and strings them together to build her narrative. And pause for a moment. She is supposedly intelligent, having acquired the family business and rolled into a multi-million dollar operation. This intelligence she finds necessary to hide from the rest of us. Some excerpts from Wikipedia.

Greene has promoted antisemitic, white supremacist, and far-right conspiracy theories, including the white genocide conspiracy theory, QAnon, and Pizzagate. Other extremist conspiracy theories she has promoted include government involvement in mass shootings in the United States, murders baselessly perpetrated by the Clinton family, and 9/11 conspiracy theories. Before running for Congress, she supported calls to execute prominent Democratic Party politicians, including Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. As a congresswoman, she equated the Democratic Party with Nazis, and compared COVID-19 safety measures to the persecution of Jews during the Holocaust, later apologizing for this comparison. During the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, Greene promoted Russian propaganda and praised Vladimir Putin. Greene identifies as a Christian nationalist.

Greene has promoted multiple baseless conspiracy theories, including the claim that Hillary Clinton is responsible for a series of murders, that Democratic Party elites are responsible for a satanic child sex trafficking ring, that the government orchestrated the 2017 Las Vegas shooting, that the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida, was a false flag attack intended to help introduce gun control, that the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting was staged, that Barack Obama secretly visited North Korea and sabotaged nuclear diplomacy to cover up untoward dealings with Iran, that Obama and his advisor Valerie Jarrett were secretly Muslim, and that the September 11 attack on the Pentagon was fake. Greene also promoted a false anti-Semitic conspiracy theory that the 2018 Camp Fire, a deadly wildfire in California, was caused by space lasers owned by the Rothschild family.

One of two things is going on here. 1) Greene is crafty and is perpetrating her own scheme on the electorate. 2) She is abysmally stupid. For myself, I prefer a schemer over a numb nuts any day of the week.

This post is about a Facebook post, and I will introduce it and lay it out. People will make their own interpretation of the exchange.

See the above image. This is from a video. Watch the video. It shows some bureaucrats acting stupidly while being questioned during a congressional hearing. Dan posted this to Facebook, and an exchange followed. Read the exchange and make your own conclusions.

Daniel G. Kuttner

Who can look at this and tell me how anything good can ever come from government, especially one at the federal level?

YOUTUBE.COM
‘What Percent Of Our Atmosphere Is CO2?’: Doug LaMalfa Stumps Entire Panel With Climate Questions

John Blanton
Daniel G. Kuttner, the headline is straight on. If you are going to talk anthropogenic warming you need to know some basic science. CO2 concentration in the atmosphere has recently gone from 250 (~) ppm to over 400 ppm. And that is what is making the difference. LaMalfa shoots his own argument by mentioning (true or not) that plant life starts dying when CO2 concentrations get below 200 ppm. Nobody is proposing a reduction below 200 ppm. One consequence of that would be the opposite of global warming, namely abnormal global cooling, which most of us would not appreciate.

Daniel G. Kuttner

You assume someone has controlled for the multitude of variables beyond CO2 emissions.

Strange that the budding wars on nitrogen and methane have petered out.

John Blanton

Uh, Daniel G. Kuttner, you might want to look into that war on nitrogen business. It appears to be a hoax. Nobody is ignoring methane. Methane has a forcing effect several times that of CO2. Fortunately there is not as much being pumped into the air as is CO2. Also Methane has a half life in the atmosphere of about 15 years, compared to 200 years for CO2. Read some science books.

Daniel G. Kuttner

You had me ’til your last snarky comment.

My tongue-fu is strong, but I prefer not to use it. If you want to have a discussion, let’s keep it intellectual. Otherwise, you get no reply from me.

John Blanton

Daniel G. Kuttner, if you would do some reading you would already know what I just mentioned about methane. Please tell me you knew this.

Daniel G. Kuttner

John: We’ve had that talk. Like most snarky correspondents, you don’t apologize for rudeness. Try that, and we can go from there.

John Blanton

Daniel G. Kuttner, what is at stake here is some basic knowledge of what is being discussed. Obviously the government officials being questioned are basic idiots with respect to their topic of interest. Congressman LaMalfa has done his homework and he knows as much about AGW as today’s high school students.

This is basic. Before you get into a technical discussion you should come prepared with some basic knowledge about the topic.

Your comment, “Strange that the budding wars on nitrogen and methane have petered out,” appears strange in this context. First, the methane issue has not gone away. The business concerning nitrogen still leaves me puzzled. Where did that come from? Educate me.

And that was the end of the discussion. It would not be worth posting, except this is typical of what I get from Dan. Where does this stuff come from?

These people never seem to catch on. Critical Race Theory? That dead horse? Here is something from my Facebook feed.

Help Us Get CRT Out of American Schools

Right now, Critical race theory is teaching American children a divisive, racist, anti-American ideology based on the false idea that everything in life can be reduced to race.

But with your support, The Heritage Foundation is leading the fight to ban CRT from American schools before it creates the most discriminatory, least civil generation our nation has ever seen.

Your support will help The Heritage Foundation do more than just talk—fighting back against CRT with meaningful direct action:

  • Providing eBooks like this one to help us reach and teach more Americans about the dangers of CRT — and the steps they can take to fight back
  • Providing an interactive CRT legislation tracker that allows you to see what CRT legislation is pending in your home state
  • Enabling our policy experts to continue to appear in national media and work directly with lawmakers to educate them on the need for legislation that gets CRT out of our schools
  • Crafting model legislation to help states draft bills to reject CRT — legislation which is already being used by lawmakers in several states to prohibit compelled speech and protect teachers and students from CRT’s prejudice

We won’t stop until the false, divisive curriculum of CRT is banned from every school across our nation.

But because Heritage does not work for special interest groups, we rely on the support of concerned citizens like you to see these efforts through.

Your donation will sustain our work to keep CRT’s racist, anti-American rhetoric out of our nation’s schools … before it tears our nation apart at the seams. The time to fight is now — this issue cannot wait.

Two points:

  • Critical race theory is not taught to American children.
  • Are these people crazy, stupid, or dishonest?

I pick the third option. See this from Wikipedia.

Climate change denial[edit]

The Heritage Foundation rejects the scientific consensus on climate change.[73][74] The Heritage Foundation is one of many climate change denial organizations that have been funded by ExxonMobil.[73][75] The Heritage Foundation strongly criticized the Kyoto Agreement to curb climate change, saying American participation in the treaty would “result in lower economic growth in every state and nearly every sector of the economy.”[76] They projected that the 2009 cap-and-trade bill, the American Clean Energy and Security Act, would result in a cost of $1,870 per family in 2025 and $6,800 by 2035; on the other hand, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office projected that it would only cost the average family $175 in 2020.[77]

Voter fraud claims[edit]

The Heritage Foundation has promoted false claims of voter fraudHans von Spakovsky who heads the Election Law Reform Initiative at the Heritage Foundation has played an influential role in making alarmism about voter fraud mainstream in the Republican Party, despite no evidence of widespread voter fraud.[78][79] His work, which claims voting fraud is rampant, has been discredited.[80]

Following the 2020 presidential election—in which President Donald Trump made baseless claims of fraud after he was defeated for reelection—the Heritage Foundation launched a campaign in support of Republican efforts to make state voting laws more restrictive.[81][82] Heritage, through its political arm, Heritage Action for America, planned to spend $24 million over two years across eight key states to support efforts to restrict voting, in coordination with the Republican Party and allied conservative outside groups, such as Susan B. Anthony ListAmerican Legislative Exchange Council and State Policy Network. Almost two dozen election bills introduced by Republican state legislators in early 2021 were based on a Heritage letter and report.[83] Heritage also mobilized in opposition to H.R. 1./S. 1, a Democratic bill to establish uniform nationwide voting standards (including expanded early and postal voting, as well as automatic and same-day voter registration), reform campaign finance law, and prohibit partisan redistricting.[81][82] In 2021, Heritage Action spent $750,000 on television ads in Arizona to promote the false claim that “Democrats … want to register illegal aliens” to vote, even though the Democrats’ legislation creates safeguards to ensure that ineligible people cannot register.[82] In April 2021, Heritage Action boasted to its private donors that it had successfully crafted the election reform bills that Republican state legislators introduced in Georgia and other states.[84]

Anti-critical race theory legislation[edit]

In 2021, the Heritage Foundation said that one of its two priorities (along with tightening voting laws) was to push Republican-controlled states to ban or restrict critical race theory instruction.[85] The Heritage Foundation sought to get Republicans in Congress to put anti-critical race theory provisions into must-pass legislation such as the annual defense spending bill.[85]

Are we surprised? American conservatism has gone downhill since Dwight Eisenhower after a short rise. See, for example.

carview.php?tsp=

I can only imagine. The Heritage Foundation appears to operate on either stupidity or fraud, and I must say I have a low tolerance for stupidity.

Somebody needs to tell me what to make of this. Here is a tweet from defeated Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake.

.

: “If we cannot contest elections that are dirty, rotten, horrible, stolen elections then we’re in trouble. And I believe that we’ll find some judges that have the courage to do the right thing”

And that is that.

Ahem. I am here to bring the sad news, Ms. Lake. You lost. You got up in front of voters in Arizona, and you tossed about falsehoods, outright lies, from beginning to end of your campaign. Amazing for Arizonians, most of them saw through the smoke and voted your ass to the sidelines. And you are still out there pushing the bullshit. What are we to make of this? Do you have a master plan to overturn the 2022 election? Or are you just plain dumb? The latter I find most regrettable.
