There are a number of reasons why I started this blog.
First and most obvious of all is that I want to make sure my sons will benefit from the lessons I learned in a shorter time. I want them to hit the ground running. However, like the author of Amador, I do not want to force these lessons upon them. By storing my thoughts in this blog I can let them browse and learn one or two things on their own time. Also, through this blog, I make sure that these thoughts will always be there when they need to revisit them again.
Second, writing things down helps me arrange my thoughts, it allows me to check my logic. Also, writing things down ensures that I won’t lose the lessons that I’ve learned. I tend to be very forgetful sometimes (my wife can definitely attest to that!). By writing my thoughts down and putting them on the web, I can always review them wherever and whenever.
Lastly, publishing these thoughts on the web allows me to share it with people around the world. I’ve always been enthusiastic about learning new things everyday, but I’m aware that I cannot possibly know everything. By sharing these thoughts through a relatively democratic medium I can get feedback for them and improve, balance, and perhaps make them more humane.
Very admirable and profound! Kudos. I hope/expect both of your sons will grow up to be great men.
