For me i watch Episodes 4 and 5 for you get to start star wars off like it should be with the 2 starships attacking each other. Also by next watching 5 you expierence the cliffhanger of who Darth Vader is. Next i watch episodes 1-3 and experience it as a flashback. Then you finish out on episode 6 for it closes everything up and ends on a good note.

I usually watch Episodes 4-6 first followed by 1-3, more from habit than any conscious effort on my part to find a perfect viewing order for the saga. But I’m definitely giving this a go next time we do a Star Wars Marathon.

My boyfriend and I just did a Star Wars marathon (again) a couple of days ago. We started with 4-6 then 1-3. I dunno, I just got used to watching them in that order.
