In an old garden book (The Practical Encyclopedia of Gardening in Dictionary Form by Norman Taylor, 1938) I have the author gives the English meanings as well as the origins of the genus and species names of plants he writes about. Not so with Clitoria which he says is “The origin of Clitoria is unprintable.”
