About Me

Hi! My name is Sebastian – Seb for short. I’m a photographer from Worcester, England. I LOVE everything about Photography….. it’s my escape from the world, my safe space. As far as I can remember I was always the type of kid that liked reading, but much preferred looking at the pictures in the book. My love for photography really flourished when I got a disposable camera for Christmas when I was about 10 years old. I was instantly inspired, “what can I photograph next?” My imagination went wild as I was thinking up shots to take, the excitement as they went off to be printed was indescribable – I still have the photographs I took with it in an album buried deep an my wardrobe.

Is it just a hobby most people have or is it there for a reason? Well, I recently found out that my grandad, who I never met, was known to have a camera around his neck a lot of the time, he loved taking photos, coincidence? maybe… but I really feel this photography stuff deep within me. It’s a true passion – it’s always been there, always will be. I’ve held a camera most of my life and probably will do until I can no longer push the button. 📸

I started this blog over 10 years ago when I was trying to gain confidence, knowledge and get myself out there a bit. Since then I’ve photographed pretty much everything you can think of, I even worked my way up to being a self employed freelance photographer for a number of years. I’ve photographed products, events, people, animals, food, charity events, weddings, sports, landscapes – all of it. When I started this blog I dreamed of doing this stuff and now I have done it, so I say to you, if you have the same passion for photography as I do and you’re dreaming about what to do with it (but maybe you’re a bit nervous?) …go for it! You’ll get there if you work hard at it, learn the craft and don’t let anyone take your dreams away from you.

I’m back to doing photography a bit more casually now, through choice but I’d like to continue to document my journey here!

I really enjoy looking at other people’s work just as much as I love taking my own photos…so point me in the direction of your blog & I’ll have a browse! Thanks for visiting! 🙂

  1. Bonjour Sebastian,
Keep the optimism and continue to express your talent for colors and shades. Your photographs are quite a refreshment! There are so many challenges… from color to sepia and monochromatic, black&white photographs.
Bonne chance! Keep up the great work!

  2. Thank you for the like on my photo “Where are the buffalo?” I have been snapping pictures for over 50 years now and hope to be doing so until the Good Lord calls me home. I have looked through your photographs and am duly impressed the aged eye you have at such a young age (to me anyway).

    • Ahhh thanks so much for your kind words! I absolutely love photography and have been snapping away for years, but have only started sharing my photos online in the last year! (I’ve been on this Blog for about 3 months!) 🙂 I hope to start a Photography Course this year to get to grips with a few things on the technical side, so that should be fun. It means alot to have such positive feedback from someone that’s been snapping for so long! Humbled. Thank you!

  7. Thank you for the kind words. I am a total spaz when it comes to photography and believe me I tried. There is an art to it and that is a skill I do not possess. Sorry about your lap top, I understand your woes mine died a few months back and I was heartbroken. Everything I have written in the past eight years, with very few exceptions, was done on that laptop. It’s like saying goodbye to a dear friend. I hope your holidays are full of happiness and cheer!

    • I love it, I used to try and get a photo on here every day, but unfortuaneltly slowed down due to work etc!! I am almost up and running again laptop wise (post to come :D) but if I’m honest, my last one served me well, it lasted 8 years and I managed to get everything off it before it died! So it’s not all bad! Thanks for your comment, I hope you have a great Christmas!

  8. Very nice blog! Sadly I won’t be on WordPress too much longer. I will be leaving it in May after 11 years. I have ten complete years worth of posts on here and I think now is the right time for me to leave WordPress.

    • Oh no! That’s sad, any particular reason? I left for a few years as life got busy and I was doing other things, but kind of regretted it because I had a lot of momentum on here before! It’s a little bit of a creative space for me so I’m just getting back into it now!

      • I just felt like it’s the right time for me to leave WordPress. I have been on here since August of 2014. I have written over 2,300 posts in the two blogs I have here on WordPress. You can also keep in touch with me via e-mail and via Social Media as well. I have ten complete years worth of posts, so I just figured that now is a good time for me to leave WordPress.

      • That’s fair enough. I backtracked on some of your posts yesterday, I like how authentic and natural they are. Like an online journal. Cool, well you can drop your email or any other social media outlets you’ll be on and I’ll happy follow. 🙂

  9. Hey Sebastian, thanks for visiting Limot’s Newsletter and liking my “An intense year at Tulane in New Orleans” post! I have gotten several likes on this post. But I am baffled because it was only for paid subscribers, and there aren’t any paid subscribers so theoretically nobody should have been able to read or like it. If you could help explain what’s going on, I would appreciate it. Did you like it just from the title and the pic and the blurb?

  10. Hello Seb, I love photography too. Started the same way. Got a simple Agfa box camera camera as a present when I was 10 and I was hooked. I started my website and blog where I post my pictures and travel blog. Thanks for visiting and keep up the good work.

  11. Hey Seb. Interesting that photography is your escape from the world. For some of us viewing your photos, it feels more like a window, an immersion into the world’s beauty — or at least a dialectic between escape and immersion ☺️ Gary

    • Hi Gary!
I’m glad you feel that way! Although an escape for me, it also brings me joy when people feel something when they view my work!
Have a great week ahead, thanks for stopping by!
