You want to more about me huh?! Ok then, here goes. I’m a 31 year old single gay man that works as a DJ at a straight strip club. Weird? Possibly, that’s for you to judge I guess. Dream job it is not. Granted, it’s not the worst job in the world. I’m sure if I were straight, I’d have a different perspective on how “great” the job actually is. I’ll be “celebrating” my 9th year at the club coming June 2007. I don’t hate it there, but I don’t love it there either. It’s definately not a job I would have ever imagined myself doing, especially for as long as I have. But, it pays the bills, and until I can find something that pays as well or better, I’m stuck.
I also do graphic design on the side, officially got my business license for it a few months back. I am not officially “trained” in the field per say, no I do not have a degree. Completely self taught. But, most artsy types were never formally trained either. I am seriously considering going back to school, due to the fact that I crave more knowledge on the subject. Currently I do work for the club I work at, a different nightclub, a mobile DJ service & a hair / tanning salon. I have created table tents, flyers, posters, business cards, menus, brochures, newspaper ads, letterhead, envelopes…oh and of course websites including custom MySpace profiles. It’s a slow process, but the business is getting off the ground.
Due to my schedule at the club (late nights & weekends), I don’t get to go out with friends as often as I’d like. But I try to get out every so often, obviously not as much as I’d like.
