Little things about Scientitic Watch and Information Professionnals
About
Dear Reader,
If you are wondering how is the weather at the moment in my native small village, or which novel I’m reading tonight, or what is my favorite singer or what I was doing while waiting the train during the latest strike, sorry You are not on the right place!!!
Here, no weather widgets, no Second Life avatar, No advertising pop-up!!
My blog is only about Information and Knowledge… very boring I guess!
This blog is about pretentious things on how Information professionnals (InfoPros) can help Scientists (especially Researchers in the Life Science Industry) to manage better their Knowledge and achieve their Information goals. It deals also with Web 2.0 features and their impact on the Science Publishing (Science 2.0).
This blog claims with pretentiousness to provide you with an high-quality information: mentioned services are compared/commented/analyzed, sources are properly referenced and linked… As possible, I will try to avoid redundant information, non-relevant private things, outdated news….
I’m French and have got a Master degree in Library and Information Science. I’m eurocertified as Information Manager.
I currently hold the position of Librarian, at a big pharmaceutical company. My responsibilities include the coordination of different R&D libraries in Europe and in the USA..
Prior to joining this company in 2001, I worked for 8 years as the Head of a Science Library in a private university.
My expertise involves the in-depth analysis of online services, such as Bibliographical databases, E-journals platform, Knowledge-oriented intranet, etc.
My current interest focuses on monitoring technologies (Science Intelligence) and the application of Web 2.0 to Science business.

Bonjour Mr Basset,
Bien cordialement,
Valentin Vivier
