Let us remember that Doyle did not intend it to be a treatise on snakes of the world. “The Speckled Band” is a wonderful little mystery, with the right atmosphere for conjuring up a strange household.

The fact that so many of us are writing about it many many years after it was first published goes on to prove how much the world still loves the detective genius of Shelock Holmes! RIP Sir Doyle! You are much loved by many.
