Does make you wonder how much gets painted worldwide! Since it’s GW figures though I won’t be participating (but that’s just cos I haven’t got any GW figures and, more importantly, I don’t plan on buying any)!

You’re a few years ahead of me down the minimalist path, but I’ve slowed down my purchasing and I hope to reduce my collection more this year. I’ve also started not replacing hobby supplies when they wear out except for paint brushes, and I’m dipping more into my drawers of materials to make scenery, rather than buying prepaid stuff. Its more time consuming but making scenery is one of my favourite aspects of the hobby.

I’m a bit late, but wow that’s an impressive selloff. I’m a similar age and have start culling my collection of 150 different forces (the majority are skirmish warbands along with full sized armies) and I plan to sell off 4-8 a year to slowly reduce the collection. Although this year I have sold off ten and culled another couple in half. Its hard to start selling them off especially the painted stuff, but once you get going its quite a good feeling.
Also I read a comment on another blog regarding letting go – that you can always rebuy the figures if you change your mind later, so that makes it easier to let go ]]>
