She is a nine-year-old Bulldog who has clearly known suffering most of her life. Emaciated, in pain, covered in scars, with infected ears, wounds, masses, and stiffness so severe the shelter would not even allow a video to be taken — that is how fragile she is right now. Lingo now Lulu was at a South Los Angeles shelter on a Major Medical Alert. Her deadline was 4 PM, January 23, 2026 - or sooner - if her condition declined. At that point, her life could have ended

We believe her story should not end on a cold shelter floor after everything she has endured. No local rescue has stepped up. But we did. But we cannot do it alone. Lulu came into the shelter as an alleged stray on January 12th in devastating condition. She was so neglected that vaccines were delayed. She arrived painfully underweight, barely interested in food, with worn-down teeth, cloudy eyes, infected ears, bite wounds, an open facial wound, mammary gland masses, and a swollen, unusable front leg. We convinced the shelter to snap an x-ray of her chest to see if there was any metastasis from the mammary tumors, and thankfully there is not! Hope. Despite all this, she has shown quiet resilience — is eating again, standing stiffly, trying to move forward.

This gentle soul deserves more than a silent ending.

Lulu will need immediate vetting, including additional x-rays, bloodwork, transport, and ultimately if she gets strong enough, she will need surgery for her masses and spay.
