This card is made for my granddaughter,Katherine, who cannot possibly be 17! The background is white card stock that is dry embossed ( pattern by Darice bought from JoAnn’s) with wide yellow checked ribbon across it. The embellishment is cut from my set of Sizzix dies and stamped and colored with a little stamp, I got in a yard sale. I had made three other cards like this with opposite colors, blue ribbon and back layer of card. It was an assembly line sort of thing, but worked well. I have a lot of June birthdays on my calendar.

This sweet card for my granddaughter Anna’s 14th birthday has the same gentleness that she possesses. The paper and topper came as a free gift from one of my favorite magazines, Cardmaking & Papercraft out of UK. They send paper and stamps as free gifts with each magazine. Except for the Happy Birthday tag and background, everything else was from them.
Japanese Maple Leaves card
Posted in Uncategorized on January 19, 2015 by sautley840The leaves on this card are from the Japanese Maple trees in my son and daughter-in-law’s yard. These were so unusual with the two=tone color, I just had to press them for card use. This card is for my husband Bob’s 79th birthday. He really liked the use of the leaves and so do I.
In Memory of Amy

Posted in Uncategorized on November 11, 2014 by sautley840This is the final thank you card of the marathon. Again, I used a topper, adding a couple of smaller punched out butterflies and hand writing my sentiment Not bad for an hour and a half for five cards. At least not for me.
Thank You Card #4
Posted in Uncategorized on November 9, 2014 by sautley840This bright yellow cardstock was just the match for the topper I bought at a yard sale in a used packet. The yellow in the flower is a perfect match for this card even though it doesn’t show up as good as it I wish it did. I like the cheerfulness of this card and hope it brought a smile to the recipient.
Than You Card #3
Posted in Uncategorized on November 6, 2014 by sautley840This is #3 of my Thank You Card marathon. The background paper was a freebie from Papercraft & Scrapbooking magazine that I subscribe to. The flower topper is from an old card that was sent to my late mother in law many years ago. I’ve had it for a long time and when I saw this paper, it just jumped out at me. Another quick and easy card.
Thank You #2
Posted in Uncategorized on November 4, 2014 by sautley840This is another of the five card marathon. I stamped the “Thank You” in 2007 with a borrowed stamp and just never used it. In the marathon, you work and think as fast as you can. I glanced on my work table and saw a scrap of my kitchen wallpaper I had tried matching for another project and found it worked nicely with this. Thus another quick card.
Thank You Card #1
Posted in Uncategorized on November 3, 2014 by sautley840The ladies of my Bible Study class brought over a meal for us last week. I sat down and made 5 quick and easy Thank You cards. This is one of them. It is made with a topper from Paper Wishes. My friend had an abundance of toppers and gave me a bunch. I mounted the topper to a white card and inked a punched out (Martha Stewart) butterfly with Tim Holtz distress ink that I bought at a yard sale and stamped Thank You. Toppers are great for emergencies. So quick.
Card for my Sister
Posted in Uncategorized on October 14, 2014 by sautley840This card I made for my sister is one of my favorites. It was made almost totally from scraps and throwaways. The black and white panel was salvaged from a discarded invitation. I die cut an oval from a white cardstock scrap and inked the edges with gold ink and glued it in the centre of the panel. I then punched out the butterfly from a black scrap with my Martha Stewart yard sale punch and inked the wings with gold. The gold frame is actually from the edges of a plastic covered package of some item I bought so long ago I forgot what it was. All was glued to a NEW blank white card from a package given it me one Christmas. I love it when a plan comes together.
