As of 2020, I’m no longer updating this blog. I started it in April 2005 because I wanted more of an outlet for writing, which I wasn’t getting at my job at the time. Over the years, it served me well in that manner, but after a few years, the posts trickled down to just a handful per year. After a life upheaval that started at the end of 2018 and lasted through much of 2019, I pretty much decided that this was an era of my life to which I could close the door and move on.
I talked about a lot of things over the past 14 years. For quite a while, I posted my writing prompts and occasional diatribes. Those posts are here, but I don’t like to go visit too many of them. It’s like thinking about your ex, wrinkling your nose, and asking, “What the hell did I see in him/her?” If you ever think you haven’t changed, just go back and read thoughts you wrote ten years ago. *shudder*
However, if you’re procrastinating to avoid something less than desirable, like doing housework, and want to lose hours that you won’t get back, feel free to go fishing the archives. I left them here as a little electronic footprint that I once had some thoughts I wanted to share and people actually read them from time to time.
Yes! I saw the link on Facebook to Dr. Tuten’s post. (Yes, twenty years later and I still refer to professors as Dr. Lastname.) I loved all my professors in the English department at CC, so I was excited to read her post and learn that she has a blog!
Just came across your Blog and could really identify with the southern camp in the woods- on camping. Camp Don Lee- Arapahoe, NC. However, I have grown a lifelong habit of camping, but actually prefer my tent to those skanky church camp cabins. I too have battled with depression for many years. Keep talking about it openly, it really helps
