Hi! I’m Sachi. π
A nurse currently trudging through the rocky path to becoming a doctor (hopefully, a medical oncologist!). π
I am a socially awkward being, never really getting the hang of social thises and thats, musts and nots. Though an introvert, I have the tendency to talk and laugh a little too loud. Β I type in too many smileys. π
I think I write better than I talk, but I am more comfortable with my talking than my writing (I shy away from conversations about this blog). I am not confident about writing, but I do enjoy it, hence this blog. π
This blog is an outlet for the frustrated free-typing spirit underneath the nurse’s apron and the Β soon-to-be doctor’s coat. π
When I am not studying, I am usually in bed engrossed in a pocket book, in the kitchen baking cookies and cupcakes, or in my room screeching singing while playing my good old guitar. π
You might find my blog posts messy because of the various topics, so please feel free to read my “Blog Guide” and filter my posts through the category box.
I hope you enjoy reading through, as much as I enjoy writing! π

Sachi, I am a little jealous ! There has been more than one occasional , hhmm, what if I kept going…maybe. I look forward to hearing what area of specialty you end up in. It’s also refreshing to have read your Halalan 2013 entry. Your scope of passion goes beyond your desired profession. Good for you !

Posted by sachified | May 18, 2013, 3:23 amHey there!
I stumbled upon this page after I saw that you liked my post. It’s nice to see you want to become a doctor after your whole nursing education. How do you like nursing so far?
Posted by akinriahtram | June 1, 2013, 6:42 amHi! Thanks or visiting my humble blog. Actually, I’ve already graduated and i am a registered nurse. I’m going to medical school now π my nursing life was great! I really miss it π
Posted by Sachi | June 1, 2013, 9:53 amThat’s so awesome! How are you enjoying medical school? I’m probably going to be following our blog, though I keep forgetting to check wordpress. Still new at it and it does get confusing. LOL
Posted by akinriahtram | June 24, 2013, 6:28 amHello!! I’m really enjoying so far, despite the heavy academic load. π Thanks a lot!! And it’s okay, I also found wordpress very confusing when I was a newbie. π
Go…go…go! Doctor to be!
Iyong 2nd daughter ko ay Medtech at noong nag-aaral siya ay akala namin ay magpapatuloy pa rin sa pagiging doctor. Noong nagtrabaho na ay nalibang na sa work.
Enjoy your studies! Enjoy life! Keep on blogging!
God Bless!
Posted by superlolongpinoy | June 1, 2013, 10:30 pmHello, Lolo!
Posted by Sachi | June 2, 2013, 2:11 amWow! Nurse and now med school! Great! Where are you in your training?
Posted by crankygiraffe | June 2, 2013, 3:11 pmHi giraffe! (It doesn’t seem right to call you cranky, hehehe!)
I’m currently a second year med student here in the Philippines. π Thanks for dropping by!! π

Posted by Coach Muller | June 10, 2013, 1:34 amOh wow! Thank you, Coach! I’ll get around to accomplishing the rules and regulations when I get to have a breather from med school. π
Posted by Sachi | June 12, 2013, 10:44 amI’ve always been interested in medicine myself!
Posted by Professor VJ Duke | June 10, 2013, 4:48 pmI visited your blog and you seem to have many interests π Cheers to you for being so versatile! π
Posted by Sachi | June 12, 2013, 10:33 amOoo….I’m not versatile…only scattered!
Posted by Professor VJ Duke | June 13, 2013, 8:31 pmHi! I just happened to stumble upon your blog while aimlessly surfing the net. I don’t regret it though, your blog is so cool! Weird thing is, I think I know you from somewhere. I think I’ve seen your face somewhere. I just can’t remember where. Haha. Sorry, muka bang stalker? I hope I remember kung san kita nakita. Perhaps around UST? Anyway. I just read your NMAT blog, and it inspired me a loooot to review. I will be taking the test this Nov, and I hope I do better this time. The first time I took it I got a super (and I mean super) low score. I wasn’t at all surprised since I was very sick during that time and my brain isn’t functioning very well. Haha excuses. But I swear I’d do better this time. Uhhh praying so hard right now. Haha. Anyway, this comment is becoming too long alredy! Sorry bout that. And I hope to see you in UST next year *fingerscrossed* Looking forward to exploring more of your bloooog! xx
Posted by Janine | November 4, 2013, 5:55 amHi Janine!
Thank you for your heartwarming comment. π You’ve probably seen me somewhere, I have fat cheeks and an all-asian look HAHAHA. π Pero probably nga around UST. Small world, small world. π
Don’t get discouraged by your previous score! I swear NMAT is one of those tests na na”rereview” and it does not in any way gauge your capacity to take med, hindi naman ganoon ang subjects kapag nag-aaral ka na sa Medicine! Parang entrance exam pre-requisite lang talaga siya. π But I wish you the best, galingaaaaan para makapasok sa medschool of choice!! Will be praying for you, too. Good luck!! π And thank you ulit! π
Posted by Sachi | November 10, 2013, 2:57 amHey there! Stumbled upon your blog. Just wanna ask if you took the nursing boards before entering med? Not a nsg student here. π Just somebody who wants to take her boards WHILE enrolled in med school (first year) π
Posted by coco | April 13, 2014, 4:22 pmHi Coco!
Sorry for the super late reply! I took the nursing boards during my first year in med. So I was already in medschool for one month before taking the board exams. π God bless on your first year! π
Posted by Sachi | June 5, 2014, 2:10 pmHi, I found this blog sometime ago when I was surfing the net for an NMAT reviewer and I bookmarked your blog seeing it has something about med school life (I bookmark almost everything). I just got enrolled in a med school last week and for the past few days I have been so anxious and nervous about what’s in store in med. And so, in trying to cope with anxiety, I went over my bookmarks one by one until I happened to this site again. I found your med endorsements, what to look out for and study, and even the stuff to prepare for exams at med school so helpful that it eased my anxiety. I think I read too much and got too much that I feel it would be a crime to walk away being ungrateful. And so I just want to say thanks for putting up a blog like this – for helping out incoming med students like me, even if they’re in different schools. For a noble profession and altruism, Cheers!
Posted by Michael Adam Aquino | May 29, 2014, 2:41 pmHi Michael!
First of all, let me congratulate and welcome you to the wonderful world of medicine! Hehehe π
Thank you for the heartwarming comment! π I always tell my readers that I really appreciate each comment and yours is truly one to remember. π I am very glad that my random posts were helpful. π
I wish you the best of luck for your first year. π Enjoy the ride, future doctor! π
Posted by Sachi | June 5, 2014, 12:54 pmHi, I just want to ask an estimate of the total cost of medical education at UST (i.e. 1st yr to 4 yr fees + living allowance-dorm/apartment + books + etc.). In addition, I enjoyed reading your blog.
Posted by marc | November 13, 2014, 2:53 pmHi Marc!
Thank you! The tuition fee for UST would range around 110-120,000 pesos per semester. Books would cost around 20-30,000 pesos depending on the books you would buy. For the dorms/apartment, I am not so sure because I live quite far from UST. Hehehe sorry T.T Hope this helped (and I hope I got the estimates right). Good luck! π
