I have tried numerous times to try and voice my thoughts in a way that it’ll make sense but the thing is, I can’t. I am in a place where I feel so far behind, so lost. I feel like I’m underwater or something and I can’t breathe.

While these words are correct about the way I feel, they aren’t exactly accurate.

Sometimes, I feel so far behind. I feel like I am on a track field and everybody that started on the same line as me have all made it to the finish line or at least made some progress and I am still at the starting point, wanting so badly to catch up with them but I don’t know exactly how to.

The world has defined a ‘perfect’ rule of thumb for us. That word (perfect) has been inscribed on the surface of our hearts and minds, so much that if we don’t match up to it, we are termed as not ‘good enough’ and are pushed to see ourselves as failures. This ideology has minimized the extent to which we give thanks unto God, man and even to ourselves.

For instance, we look at a perfect man, with a perfect home, perfect job, perfect build. Then we look at his neighbour who is struggling to feed his home and doesn’t regularly visit the gym. The neighbor would most likely see himself as inferior when compared to the perfect man. He would forget that even in all his perfection, his neighbour may not posses or enjoy  peace, joy, good health, etc.
