Wordless Wednesday

Ice on the Ohio River

We got the 14” of snow predicted and it’s severe cold!

Schools closed again tomorrow. The mayor has declared a State of Emergency for Pittsburgh. Many plows are broken and streets aren’t able to be cleared.

Our neighborhood has not lost power.

Debbie sent a follow up photo to yesterday’s Tug boat photo she sent and I posted (one view below)

Tug Boat on the Ohio River

This is a guest blog, photographed by my friend Debbie who lives on Neville Island, along the Ohio River. She texted me these pics. She and her husband Sy were enjoying their hot tub when this tug, breaking up ice, came by. So happy you shared these pics.

The images look black and white except for the flag’s pop of color.

Milk, Eggs and Bread

Up to 14” of snow predicted. Hasn’t started yet. I went down to our neighborhood market and bought a few items.

Update Sunday 4:57 am the snow started in the night and I just heard from my friend Joanne who told me about Storm Chips

How storm chips became a bad-weather staple in Atlantic Canada

Here’s a photo of a bag of Storm Chips her friend Colleen just purchased in Nova Scotia as prep for this week’s weather.

Slices of Rye Eyes

I bought a loaf of marble rye at the Bryant Street market this morning. When I went to make a sandwich with a couple of slices, they were staring at me.
