Found your article in Acrylic artist summer 2017.
Amazing. Love the ‘feel’….
Thank you, Carol. I am glad you found that article.
I wanted to comment on your story about the photo of a young man giving the finger to the police in Chicago during the time of the Democratic National Convention I think it was in 69. I too remember that photo. My father took that photo. It made a huge impact on me as well. I remember this Huge larger than life mounted photo that he was getting prepped for some event. It was way taller than I was at the time. I was just a kid back then. It was that photo. My dad, Perry C. Riddle, was a photojournalist for the Chicago Daily News back then. He always told me the guy in the photo was not a demonstrator. But something happened with an altercation with the cops that pissed him off. He told me that the young man ended up in Vietnam where he died. So, I guess my dad never knew the whole story. My dad passed away in 2018.
Hi, Sasha– Sorry your father never knew the whole story behind Frank Plada. But I hope he knew that this photo would continue to pack an incredibly powerful message for generations to come. All my best to you, Sasha.
