Grew up in Houston’s Aldine District, moved there in 1977 from Chicago. Everyone had their lawns neatly kept, 1 or 2 cars in the driveway, homes and yards clean. Fast forward to 1990s, yards full of cars, fucked home room additions that don’t match or assimilate to the neighborhood and yes garbage pile hear and there. Fast forward to 2020, residential areas where people run daily garage sales, tire shops, and even tacos stand in someone’s driveway. Mechanic shops added into someone back yard, the streets and yards littered with broken vehicles. Its so bad I am glad to be gone from there….
