I make research about my ancesters, who came from Sicilia, in Palermo provincia. Sorry, I have a very bad english; I’m French , I live in Paris. May be we are cousins or else.

People do stop and say a few prayer especially around the Saint’s anniversary I believe Sait Rocco`s is Aug 16,But the marker tells driver that tey entered a municipality protected by that particular Saint
