Christmas is.........
a loada bollox really if yer an atheist like me.
I've been puttin' a bastard tree up for years to put pressies under for the kids - against my better judgement might I add. This year I said I wasn't havin' one but was bullied in to fuckin' havin' one !
So......I left it there, bare for days - nude, nothing on it until the very last minute when I finally gave in and dressed the bastard on 23 December. That by the way was just after I'd done all my 'christmas' shopping both presents and food!
What the fuck is going on?
Christmas is a religious festival, it's supposed to be the celebration of the birth of some fucker believed to be the almighty. How many of you lot celebrate that?
It's a right bleedin' rip off is what it is - starts in bleedin' October n goes on 'til shops shut on't 24th December. Even with the so-called credit crunch the shops still put a mark up on the prices they'd been chargin' all year! But ya still see 'em, trolley piled high as if the fuckin' supermarket's never gonna open agen 'til bleedin' June. Where the hell does all that food go? It goes, as you well know, mostly in the fuckin' bin!
You wanna celebrate the birth of Christ? Fair enuff - he had fuck all n wanted fuck all. You wanna lavish your kids/family with gifts - do it all year 'round not just once a year n for fuck's sake do it when it means summat to them...........
HAPPY NEW YEAR 'N' ALL THE BEST FOR 2009 ;-}
Holy Cowwww.....
A lesson for us all maybe, lol.
Have a great weekend ;-}
Not zero, not wanting zero either!
It is only now that I feel able to disclose that I, yes I, have been attending fat fighters (well actually slimming world to be precise). This I have been doing since January and I have shrunk by a rather significant amount - quite painlessly too might I add or not as the case may be. In these months I have lost 3 stones and 10 pounds and I feel fuckin' great havin' done so. Not in confidence mind you (always had plenty of that) but in energy.
And I've found that suddenly I have developed a very strange liking for shoes! Not to eat but to buy - I have lots of 'em now. In fact I now pick the shoes n then go off hunting for the clothes to go with, how strange is that? Sometimes I just buy the shoes n no clothes at all - utter madness for a woman who just had shoes or boots and wore 'em until they got holes in because they were cumfy n I didn't need more than four or five pairs anyway.
Anyway it's been quite funny, people's reactions to my shrinkage. Some months ago I went in to work and the receptionist actually said to me that I should go shopping for new clothes as I looked like I'd dressed myself from a 'dumpster'. I took her advice, went off and spent a fairly small fortune at Next on new work clothes, it felt really good being just one size smaller. But the joy of gettin' into a pair of jeans that actually nice in all the right places was a celebration in itself. So what happened? I found myself buying nothing but jeans and shoes for weeks until I was invited to an awards event and suddenly blind panic set in - I can't go to that in jeans!! Off to Next......nice dress bought with accompanying shoes!
Well, let me tell you this - for the first time in 22 years, last week I bought a pair of trousers in (wait for it) a size 12. The smile is still on my face and will be for some fuckin' time to come I'll tell ya.
This is all good you might think and so do I except that now I for the first time in my life actually know what chicken fillets are and they're not the ones you can eat!! Every plus has a minus I guess or should that be the other way 'round....
Have a great week whatever you're doin' ;-}
Who's your mama?
Chelsea Clinton recently discussed current events with a U.S. soldier............

She asked him, as an American fighting man, if anything scared him.
He told her there were only 3 things he feared:
1. Osama

2. Obama

AND.......
3. Yomama

She scares the shit outta me in this pic unall!!!
It's all work, work, work.....
.....well between gettin' off in the caravan that is! Just back from a long weekend in Chrystal Palace with my fella n the dog, who'd have thought there'd be a caravan site so close to London. It's really nice unall, so we'll be goin' back there.
Wanted to see Mamma Mia but couldn't get tickets so just got pissed 'round Leicester Square n went for a Chinese. Spent a bit of time earlier in the day in Covent Garden, I really like it there the place is always buzzin' no matter what time of day or year. My fella went off to queue for tickets at the theatre and left me at the pub n I got talkin' to two old guys who meet up every 6 weeks for a day out - turns out one of 'em has a daughter who lives up our end of the country so they asked me to join them while I was waiting. I don't think they believed I was waiting for me hubby like!!!
Anyway they were an interestin' pair (Tony n Terry - aww, bless 'em), tellin' me about their days in the forces together n what they got up to and interestingly some of the things they ate! It's funny really how the impression is that Londoners don't really bother with outsiders 'cos that's never been my experience - maybe it's just that I'm an upfront, in yer face northern woman who'll pretty much chat to anybody. We had a good chat about all that north/south divide stuff and concluded it's a bag o shit really. My fella finally returned ticketless and we drew up another chair - proof indeed that he was not a figment of my imagination, phew...I'd started to worry a bit meself!
Tone n Tel got up to leave as they were off for a meal so we swapped numbers with the one who has the daughter that lives nearby and said we go for a beer next time he was in town, said our tarrahs and settled down for a another drink. Bugger me, 5 minutes later the pair of 'em were back havin' enjoyed the conversation so much they decided to see the night out with us - how sweet is that. A very enjoyable day and night all 'round.
Anyway, during the rest of our stay we went to Greenwich, Chrystal Palace (obviously) n did plenty of relaxin' over the weekend - bit of a shame that the Cutty Sark was covered up for renovation but we'll catch it next time no doubt.
It was really nice to see a fox just amble by one night on the site as we were takin' the dog for a walk - he thought it was another dog and in his usual anti-social manner completely ignored it!!
Well I'm off now - enjoy what's left of the weekend.
Special message for Manic - If this isn't enough to get me off yer lazy bastards list then you can just go n fuck yerself ;-}
