I will live when this ends
I will make no mistakes
I will wait for the moment and rise up then
There’s no hope now when
Everything’s broken and it feels like a dead-end
I will give up for now
I will prepare better when i’ll start again
I won’t cherish this then
I won’t make the most of it when
Even though i am down
I will try not to rise up again
I have given in
I have lost my sense
I wont lose out and be defeated
I will live like i will never live again.
I have certain dreams. They do not involve getting a job or being successful. They just involve a considerable increase in the usage of the guitar, the vocal box, the use of pencils and paint and of course the programming of the computer. Some dreams.
My college as at an end and i feel i am not very good at whatever i came here for. But i take this end of phase as a means to better myself in things that are important to me. Maybe i will wake up this time. Maybe. Because it seems the habit of procrastination hasn’t gone away completely. I need to be doing things and not thinking about doing them.
There you go. Looks good. That’s what i want to say when i look myself in the mirror. The mirror that not only reflects the skin but the human within.
]]>Man! You have to listen to this. This is so tripping on me. I feel like having a girlfriend right here. It’s piercing through my soul kinda music. It’s making me all fuzzed up and i feel like flying away.
So maybe i went overboard. But it’s just that great. I won’t go into technicals. It’s acoustic with a really amazingly soothing voice. Just listen to it. Other notable songs from Jack Johnson are “Breakdown” and “Good People”. Enjoy.
]]>Ever so graceful;
She saw me in that fleeting glance,
And was gone forever.
Have you ever felt like a wave?
In desperation to touch the shore?
Would you feel the same when you’re there?
And when it’s time to go back to the place you were before?
The heart is but an object of desire,
Let it beat it without a care,
Would you come and let me take a look at it?
Once you know it, not being with it would make it all bare.
Have you ever felt the rush of blood that they speak of?
When you were in front of me did you see me try?
My eyes never met yours and i never said a word,
I wish i could have said, I wish i could have dared.
A fleeting glance is all she had,
The blink of an eye on a busy street,
The muted sound of a heaving sigh,
The failed possibility of a divine meet.
And then the chorus comes up:
“You’re a mountain that i would like to climb,
Not to conquer, but to share in the view.”
It just blew me away. Allegories are surely not lost on Boyd. I must say Kenney’s influence on the band is dominant with the heavy bass ringing throughout. I am a big fan of his last year’s solo album Distance and Comfort too.
The guitar riff after the end of the second chorus is more Einzinger on Light Grenades.
But this is one great song. And it alone makes for an exceptional listen. Kudos to you Incubus for making a great comeback.
]]>When it comes and blows you away,
Without a thought, without a fight,
With no chance for you to say,
Like the torch going out,
Will you burn out, die of asphyxiation?
The vocal chords scream,
Hear them rising up your neck,
Feel them inside your teeth,
Let the tongue be the slope and make them jump.
The atmosphere is now so much more pleasant,
Your voice just found my ears,
The rhythmic vibrations within me,
The wound heals, the fear recedes,
Into the darkest of canopies.
]]>Forget the screen flickering,
Let’s cuddle up and kiss,
Two seats in the last row, oblivious.
]]>The Offspring isn’t known a lot among people but this particular song “(Can’t Get My) Head Around You” is a great way to get introduced to them. It’s but remembered for the fly guy song that was a commercial hit. The video especially is very unique, watch it. The punk feel is indelible and the song is totally in your face angst punk and hits you hard in just under 3 minutes flat.
The next song builds up to an incredible high by none other than Led Zeppelin! Not a huge listener of them, this song was introduced by a friend and is amazingly addictive with it’s smooth guitar riffs and the unique voice of Robert Plant. From their first album it is but a folk song covered but given a great new life by them.
My Sharona!! The Knack is probably remembered for this song the most. I came to know about this really nice rock n’ roll song by a cover done of it by Pearl Jam. The original is better!! The riff is a very catchy and heady tune and this debut single of them catapulted them to fame.
Juanes is introduced with La Camisa Negra (The Black Shirt) is a great spanish song by one of the most revered songwriter and musician. Spanish lovers, this is one artist that you will want to listen to after Shakira
(especially the females). The song also has some very profound lyrics. Read them up.
Counting Crows are there in the playlist with their hit “Big Yellow Taxi” and Ill Nino with “What You Deserve”.
Following up on the high of Ill Nino is Foo Fighters with “Best Of You”. A very hard hitting post grunge song by a fantastic band of this genre, the lyrics and the whole positive vibe you get listening to it is simply amazing. When you are feeling down this is one song that can bring the best of you.
To calm things down and yet being on a high is “Have A Cigar” by none other than Pink Floyd! This amazing song from an unparallel album “Wish You Were Here” is probably not the best than the rest but fits in nicely between the two songs.
Probably the first hip-hop song on a playlist ever posted here at the blog is simply the best ( from a flock of crap hip-hop songs ) this year. Be it “Diamonds of Sierra Leone” or “Stronger” he has made great tracks and so is “Love Lockdown” with his bass-heavy melody which infuses this headiness and relaxing atmosphere. The autotune voice is techno bliss.
Stone Temple Pilots come again with a great hit called “Interstate Love Song” with a great grunge riff and a very calming voice and progression. I really like the voice of Scott Weiland with it’s smooth transitions. A great song for a highway drive.
Bush comes this time with two amazing numbers. Adrenaline is in signature Bush style with a killer grunge voice and a slow beat yet pumped up to the brim. Following up on the this heightened sense of adrenaline
is “Mouth” repeating itself in this playlist ( a first for a song ). I guess this one of those songs that really got to me with it’s mesmerizing feel, the mysterious abyss it sets up and you just want to keep falling into it. I think it maybe a personal opinion but this one song is definitely to be checked out. And it will certainly grow on you.
To bring things to an end is a live version from the Morning View Sessions by Incubus called “The Warmth”. The starting almost reminds you of whales and the way the whole song just progresses simply leaved you in raptures. Whether it be the riff or the bass rhythm this one song simply one great Incubus song. The one special thing of this live recording of this song is a high pitch yell by Brandon which modulates in a very weird yet musically sound way. Check it out.
With all that done here is the playlist in all it’s glory :

It’s Incubus again with “AsWeThinkWeIz” and “Follow” from Enjoy Incubus and Follow EP respectively. The first song is pretty much funk/metal song with a very nice whistle added in the beginning. The lyrics are kind of weird with some lines making no sense whatsoever. But the theme can easily be understood and it makes for a very peppy number. Almost pop in the sense. “Follow” is the lyrical version of the First Movement Of Odyssey which i found being on a Follow EP that has been released only in Japan. But the original 1st movement… was part of the Halo 2 Soundtrack Volume 1. The whole Odyssey series comprising of 4 orchestral songs is a major thing in itself. The whole 27 minutes or so simply blows you away with the amazing mixture of sounds and variations. A must listen as a modern orchestral classic.
Then there are two Pearl Jam songs from their last self titled album. Both Life Wasted and World Wide Suicide bring back the Pearl Jam greatness. With heavy hitting vocals and a very nice drum line and bass effect to both the songs, the lyrics adding to the personal and social enlightenment these songs are what pearl jam do best, make absolutely great music.
Superman from Lazlo Bane which IS the great title theme to the hospital comedy Scrubs is simply one the best acoustic songs i have heard. The whole atmosphere it creates is simply buzzing with positive vibes. This one song is one of those car drive songs that you would simply would like to sing alongwith.
Now i found Stone Temple Pilots quite some time ago with their amazing song “Creep”. So i decided to try out their debut album “Core”. I wouldn’t call it a great album but some songs are fantastic. There’s the opening song “Dead and Bloated” with that grunge feel to it and a characterstic slow rhythm of their songs. “Wicked Garden” grows on you with the earwarming humming/chorus line. But “Plush” takes my maximum applause for being simply the best among the lot. Although being in the end of the album it’s one song that i took a liking to on the first listen. The lyrics were a bit cryptic (or simply weird) but the song has a very grunge atmosphere to it kind of like pearl jam and yet not like them.
I added two Police numbers “Message in the bottle” and “Bring on the night” from their album “Regatta De Blanc”. Message in the bottle is a very famous song of theirs and the second one has a very amazing guitar riff. It’s new wave/reggae/jazz music which i am not too familiar with. I only heard them for a heard a cover of them by Incubus on Youtube. So i decided to check them out. Jazz and possibly reggae was a major component of Incubus’s earlier work especially Fungus Amongus and Enjoy Incubus.
So here’s the playlist:
