About
Dancing. Creating. Feeling the Energy. If you don’t see much of me, it’s because I don’t stop moving for very long…
Yes, that is not my real name, but it -is- a true descriptive: I enjoy dancing. Some forms I teach and some I just learn. When I’m not dancing (and doing those other practical things required of adults), I explore many handicrafts from primitive to medieval to modern. Which is why you won’t see me here very often: I’m busy!
My thanks to Elizabeth Chatfeld for the heading photo.
My thanks to all the people who inspire my writings.
My thanks to you, the reader, for being here, and perhaps even commenting.

Hiya!!
I’m very interested in your språng cap, with mixed fibers, and is that a tablet woven band??? Please tell me more?
yours, Carol
Carol, I’m glad you like it!
The band was woven on a backstrap loom, just a few sticks and cords; you could get the same result on an inkle loom. The centre section just alternates warp yarns in red and white to produce the ladder pattern. Changing the thickness of the warp will affect the design, too, so a thicker yarn (in the “lesser” color) will make that color a wee bit raised from the surface.
