Over the last six months we have been playing the housing market game. Got the house on the market while living in it. Put half our stuff in storage. The house has been shown 20 times and no offers. Ok it’s not your usual “run of the mill” house. It’s in the mountains, on a steep incline. It was built in 1964. Solid brick with steel I beam construction. And people don’t like the lower level floor plan. It has a small kitchen, and a walkway along the back side of the house, of which I like and have called it the “service entrance”. One can be entertaining in the living room while someone else enters the house and can move from one area to next without disturbing the guests. But Noooooo! People are simple and have no imagination. Funny what goes on in the mind of a buyer. We actually love the house. The attractiveness of the place offers so much peace and beauty. The only reason we are selling is because we sail and want to do some extended cruising while our son is still at home with us.
Had our 20th showing yesterday. The word was the house didn’t “flow”! So now we are looking into doing some renovations. I just don’t seem to have the energy to do anything else to this house. Spend Dec. 09 – July of 09, painting and fixing it up to put on the market. The extra amount of energy has got to come from somewhere. Think I’ll work on learning the art of meditation.
