Two days ago I went for some left overs in the fridge. I heated up some spaghetti that I had put in a pan with some sauce, days before. While trying to “eat right”, I bought all organic groceries the previous week. The sauce I used was an organic tomato sauce. Unaware of the fridge shelf life, I ate this spaghetti again maybe 4 days later.
For a timeline sake, I ate the leftover for dinner Tues night 6:30pm. Woke up about 2AM with tight chest pains and thought it must be gas. Unable to lay down on either side all night, the only relief I could get was sitting up. By 6AM I was dosing off sitting up. As the day progressed, so did the nausea, chills, and fever. The only way I could get the nausea to stop was to eat crystalized ginger. The spiciness of the ginger somehow removed the feeling of nausea. The rest of the day was spent in bed, dozing off and on. By 10AM Friday morning, I woke up hungry and energetic.
Was it food poisoning or was it a touch of the flu? The organic sauce was a suspect due to no preservatives in it. Something I’ll have to look into. I always hated left overs anyway.
