Well, this card has been a bit of a challenge, especially as I haven’t done anything in ages!

Took me quite a while to work out how best to display all the different elements that the person wanted on the card, especially as they are unrelated in any way, shape or form!

      Anyhow, I eventually decided that this double shutter card would work and today I think I’m there?

Well Good Morning Everyone,

It’s a dismal day outside and although I really need to do some housework, I thought I’d better finish the card I started last night!

I’ve used a 5×7 card and the Mojo Monday Challenge layout.  The papers are from the First Edition Desert Blooms pad.  With the two strips though, I had a real crafty moment and placed a border peel off on the paper and then inked over the top with Memento Morocco and then removed the peel offs – leaving the pattern behind.

The feathers are a set which I’ve only just got from “Stampin Up” called Four Feathers, and the sentiment is their Outlined Occasions set.

Right, I better go and clear up my mess and start this housework 😦

Good Evening All

Had a crafty moment this afternoon and came up with this one, taking inspiration from the current Mojo Monday challenge.

It’s all been put together from bits and pieces and leftovers, of which I seem to have loads 🙂

The card is a 5×7 kraft card and I think the papers are Graphic 45, but don’t hold me to that! I’ve used my Brother Scan”N”Cut to do the heart, the leaves are a Sue Wilson die and the flourishes are a Pink Frog die. Little bit of ribbon, peel offs and gems to finish it up.

And should have been in the post a day ago! Better late than never, eh 🙂

Well hello there, it’s been a while, but here is a card I managed to make today!

It’s all been done with various dies:- Sue Wilson’s Lattice Heart striplet die, and Petit Vinery die, a Marianne die and Heartfelt Creations Sun Kissed Fleur stamp and die set.  All rounded off with some pearls and a bow.

Not too bad, seeing as I’ve been out of practice for a while 🙂

Hopefully I shall post again soon, but the new job is keeping me a little busy at the moment, so bear with me

Good Evening All

Have had a lovely day today – I’ve been at a workshop with Hels Sheridan hosted by Daisy’s, and this is what we made 🙂

There was lots of inking and stamping, but most importantly for me, the chance to learn about the melt pot.

I have one upstairs – it’s still in it’s original packaging 😀

So I’ve learnt how to do faux enamelling, how to use moulds to create embellishments and different coloured UTEE to produce a marbling effect – it’s been great fun learning something new although I think I may need to practice a wee bit.

Might also need to have a little shopping spree to allow me to do all this – ha ha any excuse 🙂

Anyway, must go, but I’ll try to be back again soon

Good Morning All

Well, as I said, yesterday was Crop Day for our little crafty gang and we’d set a challenge to ourselves to make something that was 3d, as a change from doing a card.

So, here is my contribution 🙂

It’s a Perpetual Calendar made from MDF by Stamps Away, which I bought via Create and Craft.  I’ve decorated it with design papers from the Beach Bliss paper pad by Lily of the Valley.  I sanded round the edges and then coloured them with a brown alcohol marker.  The letter and numbers were inked on using Vintage Photo distress ink through a stencil, which I bought at the same time.

I’ve added some die cut leaves up each side and the dogwood flowers at the front are also die cut.  The sentiment is one from IndigoBlu, which I felt was quite appropriate for a calendar.

I only did the decoration yesterday, the calendar itself took a wee while to decorate and put together, but it’s very sturdy once constructed, and quite a substantial piece.

Have thoroughly enjoyed making this, and it’s been good fun trying something different  🙂

Next month, we’ll be tackling cards again, and the theme of “travel” has been set – so watch this space!

Right must go, gotta look for a new job 😦

Good Afternoon all

Just a quickie, but, as promised, here is what we made at the workshop yesterday with Hels Sheridan.

Had a lovely day, it was actually quite a chilled workshop, nice and relaxing 🙂

Good Afternoon All

Apologies for the lack of blogging but time has not been kind and as you can see, I thought I ought to make a start on my Christmas bits 🙂

With some much needed inspiration from my very good friend Sonia, I have decided to make “poop” bags for my staff.  Half are Snowman Poop (marshmallows) and the other half are Reindeer Poop (chocolate covered nuts and raisins).  Such a brilliant idea and ever so quick and easy.

I’ve used some poly bags that I had in my stash to put the “poop” in, played around with a poem from the internet, added a little bit of clip art and then cut this out with a spellbinder die to make the top section and stapled onto the bag. Done 😀

The card is the design I have decided to go with this year.  Using two dies, one from Memory Box and one from Joy Crafts, some burgundy card on an A6 card blank and a few sparkly gems, its a very simple card, and relatively quick to produce (once you’ve done all the die cutting!).

So with most of that at least underway, I may even get round to doing some other cards soon and will hopefully be back again 🙂

Sorry for the lack of blogging lately, just don’t seem to have had time for anything!

Anyhow, went a bit retro with this one, the inspiration coming from the stamps – which came free on my Craft Stamper magazine 🙂  Thought it would make a very modern anniversary card for my friend later on this month.  Its my take on the current Mojo Monday challenge and the ABC Challenge

I’ve used a 5×7 card and matted and layered some blue card with some papers from the Basic Grey Euphoria range.  The two icons have been stamped with versamark and embossed with WOW embossing powder in fluorescent blue.  Thankfully the colour of the card, the powder and the button all matched, so it came together quite nicely!  The letters have been die cut using one of the Xcut dies.  I think I would prefer it if the letters were all the same size, but that’s just me!

Well, seeing as it’s Mother’s Day tomorrow, best get cracking on a card 😛

So I shall be back again soon – all going well.
