As a alum of SBTS I do have the utmost respect for Dr. Al Mohler…but once again he is showing in this blog post that he doesn’t really get it. Attacking those who are struggling with unbelief and faith will only push them/us further away.

QF, that link didn’t seem to go to a relevant story. Is it correct?

You are correct—the Albert Mohlers of the world do not get it. We were taught—as Christians—there would always be moments of doubt. That we would come through it if we just have faith. That if we pray hard enough, work hard enough, study hard enough, do the right thing, read the correct passage or article, perform the correct ritual, we will come arrive on the other side without doubt and a stronger Christianity.
Is it any wonder pastors on the road to disbelief struggle on–it is what we mandate! Dr. Mohler assumes one deconverts for immoral purposes—never for intellectual reasoning—and therefore every approach he takes comes from this inherent bias.
