Chinatown is now desolate
My husband and I are Asian. Born and raised in US. No longer feel safe in our own neighborhood. Have been harassed verbally and called names. Sad because we used to go out all the time for meals. Now rarely and definitely not after dark. ]]>

After seeing this posting (thx!) we tried HQ the next day. Have to say that the service was outstanding, and the food fully met our expectations. The chicken and waffle was exceptionally good!

This is my old office…we just moved a few weeks ago. Seems like a strange location. 40 West Gude is in a small office park, not near any other retail nor visible from the main road.

Went here for brunch. Very impressive! It’s expensive, but there were a lot of options an everything was good. This was the “all you can eat” brunch. As part of your entry fee, you also get passed hors d’oeuvres during the meal, which I’d never seen. Added a fun element of surprise.

For past inaugurals, residents with cars parked outside of the security zone in order to get around/out of town. Plan conservatively and without assumptions.

@marcia smith – check with your building manager. the Clara Barton is fully inside the red zone so my guess is that you won’t be able to get your car out between Thursday evening and Sunday morning. but, you’ll need to make that determination yourself.

@Joan – the Austin Grill is dark while it gets repurposed. I can’t find it right now but there was an article in the DC media that indicated AG is planning a new restaurant concept for that location.
