Hi there. I’m Kris, and this is, well, my place. Here, briefly, are some things about me:
- I was born and raised in CT, flew south for college, joined a sorority, graduated, got a job in Manhattan straight out of school – my dream come true – realized it wasn’t my dream come true, packed up, moved back to North Carolina, lived with some of my best friends, continued my career as a publicist, met an amazing guy (he’s pretty much stolen my heart), moved in with him just outside of Charlotte – and here we are.
- I love anything pink. If it’s pink and green, that’s even better.
I want a puppy. Now.I am obsessed with my and L’s new lab puppies – Dixie and Shep.- I want to be Southern, yet I refuse to give up many of my “Yankee” traits.
- For example, I will never call a knit ski hat a “toboggan.” Sorry.

just stumbled upon your blog… curious as to why manhattan wasn’t your dream come true? (i’m always interested in other people who find the manhattan life, well, not so amazing…)

I’m not really sure why… I think it’s a few small reasons. I think one the major things – I wasn’t living in Manhattan, I was commuting close to two hours each way to work everyday from Connecticut. That’s 4 hours each day. It makes you tired, took the enthusiasm out of my life. I missed my friends in NC. A lot. Not many of my other friends had stayed in the area. I still love the city, and try to make a trip in every time I visit family in CT. Also, I really got turned on to the Southern Charm while in college. 🙂

I see… wow that commute is killer. Terrible, actually.. I don’t even like my 15 minute walk to work. (bunny=spoiled) I’ve always wanted to go to the South and have one of those picture-perfect lives you see on TV– I guess I imagine having a charming home in Savannah or something. Of course, I dream about a lot!
