About Me

My name is Jane and I was born and raised here in Melbourne, Australia. I love to take photos as a hobby photographer, but also love to write and study. I’m currently volunteering at a Neighbourhood House doing all sorts of Admin things and soon I’ll be spreading my wings tutoring people to help strengthen their English skills.  I’m looking forward to that.

Additionally, I collect swap cards (the 70s kind), have a cat of my own as well as two foster cats, love to knit and am seriously considering learning crochet, although my Grandma tried to teach me this and I just tanked every time.  

After spending a total of 8 1/2 months in hard lockdown over the 2020-2021 period, I am enjoying my freedom and all that the outdoors can provide me.  All that lockdown has given me a new appreciation of the people in  my life and the small glories of the world around me.  

However, writing has always been something I enjoy and you’ll find I have plenty to say on a variety of subjects. I hope you enjoy reading it all as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Occasionally you’ll want to go back and find something I wrote but it seems to be hiding from you. Don’t worry, things hide from me too! To help you (and me) out, I’ve set this up so that blog entries can be searched several ways. You can use the calendar or month summary to isolate specific dates or categories to identify more general themes.

Failing these, there’s always that good old “search keyword” function.
