Your new word is
NIGHT
I kissed him and wished him goodnight,
But in the morning I got a fright:
He’d turned into a toad
And got squished in the road
Now he’s flat and a terrible sight.

I almost lost my breakfast this morning as the media has headlines about the State Pension being means tested and the magic number for the savings threshold is suggested at £20,000.
That will be most of us then.
Those who have played by the rules all their working lives, paid their taxes, saved for their twilight years so as not to be a burden on society, have a nice little cushion for emergencies, and are generally plodding along, still counting the pennies but getting by.

Linda Hill is our host and today’s prompt is brought to us by Angela. Thank you, Angela! Please be sure to visit Angela’s blog to read her posts and say hello. And follow her while you’re there if you’re not already.
Your prompt for JusJoJan January 26th, 2026 is “eavesdropper.”
According to one particular person in the office, I didn’t have any organization skills.
How did I find this out? I was in a cubicle in the ladies loo when she came in with a friend and started laying into me. I stayed where I was, an unintentional eavesdropper, and learning how the land lay.
I had the last laugh.

Here are my answers to the questions posted earlier
1. Would you consider yourself easy going?
Most of the time.
2. Are you comfortable talking to a group of strangers at a social gathering?
Usually. I was at a dinner party hosted by a friend in the advertising world and his other guests were a mixture of personalities and backgrounds. I held my own with them all.
3. What are three things about people that annoy you?
Bad personal hygiene, not clearing up after their dogs, and putting people down in public.
4. What do you do to cheer yourself up when you’re feeling down in the dumps?
Some go for retail therapy, but that has never worked for me, though going out for lunch will always lift my spirits. However, if money is tight, walking the dog, writing Hello Cards to friends, making cards or sitting down at the piano will usually help.

Welcome to Share Your World.
There are two ways in which you can participate:
Leave your answers to this week’s questions in the comments box below or create your own post and link back to this one.
Ping-backs are activated, but don’t always work properly, so to play safe, leave a link in a comment or if you prefer, leave just the link so that I can see it.
(Instructions on how ping-backs work are found by clicking here. Thanks! )
To make it easy for others to check out your post, title or tag your blog post “Share Your World”.
As always an optional gratitude section is included at the end.
Here are this week’s questions:
Jim Adams is our host and this week the theme is to find a song that mentions Cold.
Well here we go with the new computer and putting in a music video. I haven’t checked any other out yet as I wanted to get up to date with everything first.
