Bridge over the Toccoa
River is located on the Benton MacKaye
Trail and the Duncan Ridge National Recreation Trail in Fannin County, Georgia .
This 270 foot long bridge is the longest swinging bridge east of the Mississippi River . It was built by the USDA Forest
Service in cooperation with the Appalachian Trail Club in 1977.
On both north and south side approaches to the bridge, the white diamond blazes of the Benton MacKaye Trail and the blue vertical rectangular blazes of the Duncan Ridge Trail are present.

Road trip to Knoxville to see the Lady Vols vs. GA basketball game. This year we had 13 who drove up from Ellijay and 5 more joined us there! Three generations represented, love having the younger girls along this year to hopefully carry on the tradition.
The group has grown over the years, with the first trip in 2006 with just us 4: Kay, Sue, Heidi, and me:
"W.H. Bass Newsletter: Even with all the negotiating, begging and pleading, Buddy's flip calendar finally made it to the end. From ALL of us here at WH Bass, we wish you all the best, Buddy! Good luck with Susan's "Buddy List"!"
Final trip to the office to turn in equipment, request 401-k, tell everyone 'bye'.
Great roasting/story telling session and last free lunch! A great company to work for, nice folks.
Buddy shared his 'not going to miss this' list with visual display of styrofoam cups, loved by all.

the table
Kyle and Allison with a little help from Grandpa Buddy and use of the shop and tools, designed and created this beautiful table of cedar and resin for their new house! Carrying on the tradition of 'sawdust in the veins' in this family of carpenters and builders. Great job everyone!

granma Lissa's I-spy quilt
granma Lissa's I-spy quilt with Lili and Mav :)
"Snips and snails, and puppy dogs' tails; That's
what little boys are made of." according to the old nursery rhyme. The
next verse, of course, addresses the parallel question: "What are little
girls made of? Sugar and spice, and everything nice; That's what little girls
are made of."
I ordered 5” charm packs for I-spy quilts, check out the
difference in the boys and girls packs. I don’t think so... will be mixing
these up!

It was a great day out in the winter sunshine, good food and company. The Vols won under the direction of our cousin Kellie Harper!
