When Madness Connection started promoting DC Boxing he was kind enough to let our show Boxing Spotlight air their fights. Joint Venture Communications produced the shows and gave area fighter a vehicle to show their talent. Derrell Coley, William Joppy, Mark Johnson, and others were area fighters that got to the highest level of Boxing. Without Mr. Johnson the road to success would have been much harder.

Proudly attributed to the Elliott’s Nursery School (Geraldine Elliott (Geo), an avid civic leader_ no doubt as a contributor to the community. Her excellent nursery school would serve to directly attract students from across the 4-quadrants of DC serving to feed its “big” students (once school-age) into the Park View Elementary School.
I fondly recall Sen. Robert Kennedy’s visit w/ my class photographed in the Washington Afro Newspaper…as he departed shaking our hands on the plaza.
My teachers were Mrs. Mavorite, Whitted, Stewart, Lewis and Hudson.
I was a diligent Safety Patrol_ chosen to ride the parade float having risen to the rank of Captain. I covered one company, serving opposite my close friend, Pam who covered the alternate… collectively, two little girls taught leadership qualities (also at Ellioott’s Nursery) I’ve taken since, throughout my adulthood.
I also learned the value of friendship w/ a lifelong pal, Regina_ also from nursery school thru Park View. Additionally, crossing paths w/ other students in similar adult arenas: Melba, Sheila, Adrienne and Tommie.
