Yet she generally felt it wasn’t necessary to process her feelings and her life the way I enjoy (even it involves painful moments) – much to learn about.

we all would prefer to have a natural death in hospice or at home with hospice care–the group is recurring/metastatic cancer so we live with our probable death inside us. the not-knowing is far worse than knowing.

And the metaphors – so rich! The shell with the spines to keep one from sinking, the spine to house the nerves & conduit to the brain – this is rich writing indeed!
