So for my Business class we had to find and interview a professional photographer in an area of photography that we like the most. Durring the interview we had several questions that we as a class came up with and from the list of twenty we had to choose at least ten to have answered. My Photographer was a ladscape photographer from Colorado and here are some of the questions I asked.

How do you advertise?
Greg advertises in many different ways, internet, business cards, personal flyers, mailers and calling clients.
How, or where do you find most of your clients?
Most are found through the internet. He mostly goes online and searches for clients through web searches as well as online job sites.
How long did it take to get a strong client base?
It took about two years until he had enough clients to actually start his business. However he had been working for a good year befor he got his first big client, advertising photos for the Bahamas.
Do you take on interns or assistances?
Not to often because a good assistant is hard to come by. He usually does however when his work load is to much. The assistance are usually younger active people who don’t mind working for a minimal pay. Quality wise he wants people who don’t mind travel, can take orders, and have a good eye for a great shot.
Do you have crative freedom of your shots?
Usually he does have creative freedom when it comes to the photos he takes as long as it is serving the purpose of his client.
Is there anyting business wise you wish you had done differently?
He wishes he would have taken a few more lessions in portrait photography so on his down season he would have a back up business to go off of.
What are your keys to success?
Keep driving and not give up. He said it is always hard at first and a lot fo people lose hope of actually making it. however if you keep driving and keep pulling yourself foward you will get that one client that makes your workd worth it to others.
Do you print your own images?
Yes eh most often does print hiw own images for his own personal collection however the prints he sends his clients are usually digital files with his copy-write on them so he can advertise more.
