Welcome to my world!!!! My writings, musings, and commentaries on life in the country and life in general can be found here. We have moved from suburban suffocation to rural freedom, and have been learning as we go, for the past 10 months!
I am new to “blogdom” also – so this too will be a work in progress!!
So, bear with me, pull up a chair, grab a cup of tea, a glass of wine, or a beer, and take a few minutes to relax in my world!

Thanks so much, Pat, for sharing your site! I will be a regular visitor from now on.
Speaking of rustic surroundings, we just bought a vacation home off-grid in the mountains of New Mexico, some 27 miles NW of Taos. It’s at 8600 feet and — well, heck — you can check it out here:

Take care — it’s nice meeting you!

It meant a lot to me that you stopped by my site today. You said I was brave to take on politics and religion. That’s not really bravery at all. Having lived outside the USA for almost 3 decades I’ve seen a lot. Then when I did come home permanently, it was to a nation that was hardly recognizable.
My career of a Humanitarian Aid Relief Coordinator and Educator for First Responders is what allowed me to enter numerous nations across four continents. For almost 25 of those years, I was married to an abuser. Once I got back here, things dramatically changed. Thanks to some quick thinking neighbors and the police, I was able to get out of that situation.
So, after all that, I was left with the clothes on my back, my briefcase and my new Sheltie puppy. (However, I’d always had dogs…prior to leaving the USA) Once I was released from the hsopital, I had to live in a “safe-house” and my puppy was cared for… first by the Humane Society, then by my sister who drove all the way out here to get her until I found us a place to live.
I am VERY happily remarried. He’s such a blessing! The reason behind the name of my blog “An Eclectic Array of Topics” was his idea. There’s so much I’ve seen, been part of, witnessed…not to mention all that I’d experienced prior to ever leaving the USA.
Again, I want to say THANK YOU for stopping by. Your wisdom in the comment you left, I’m sure will benefit many.

Allowing us, your readers, to share Christmas memories was like lighting a candle again…in that dim area. Word are inadequate in expressing my gratitidue for allowing us such a privilege. This is a great idea and I hope you gets lots of entries for your drawing.
The best part of the whole thing…is knowing YOU had a part or bringing back such precious memories.

Hello there, I felt so lucky ( an elusion ) to have run across your website and read some of your writings of god’s country living. You see I used to live in the woods with God’s creatures and Mother Nature all around, yet it was taken from me. So now I live in Glen Allen, a mear example of the blend of God’s Country and Man’s country. I get small examples of God’s World and your writing pulls me toward and refreshes me so much. Thanks, keep it up please. I want more.
